Been doing lots of small tidying jobs on the car as of late, mainly cosmetic....
First was to paint some brackets and bolts from the engine bay.
Now for a while now there has been rust present in the arches. I've had a few quotes from body shops which said there is no need for a complete cut-out and replacement, just a bit of welding. Anyway for the time being I decided to touch them up, not to cover them up or repair them but just to tidy the car up until I can get them professionally done.
I know its far from perfect but at least it may slow down the process, and looks a whole lot better.
Each patch was ground down and sanded as much as possible, then simple brushed with touch up paint.
I did a fair bit of wire brushing and under-sealing underneath.
Brushed off the rust back to smooth bare metal, primed it, and sealed it up, like new!
Under the side skirts all done.
Behind the bumper, cleaned, wire brushed and under-sealed.
Decided to fit my refurbished engine cover to go with the newly painted brackets.
And finally I fitted my repainted team dynamics, really pleased with the colour.
