Finally come round to trying it and it just won't run. Plugs are wet, no spark. Tried the standard leads and MSD ones no difference. Plugs are ok. Dizzy was fine when I removed the head from the b16a2 .... Everything's timed up ok etc. Not sure what could cause lack of spark on these engines??

ECU is a chipped P30 the original one but with a b18c R chip by htune, running OBD1

Anyone?? Looks like it's pointing to dizzy located a replacement but another 100 quid and not sure if it's that??

Can the cap be faulty?

You not timed it 180 degrees out? Sounds stupid but I know you was having issues with the belt.
Have you got an earth from the gearbox to chassis? Needs to be a decent size and preferably backed up by one coming off the head aswell.

I'll check it's not 180 out I think I fitted it at TDC with all the marks lined up on the dizzy

Good earth to box but I'm going to piggyback one from there to the head as I don't think it has a good earth

Did you have the dizzy apart?

Not until today which is why I was leaning more towards thinking it was a bad earth

Usually a bad earth effects the starter aswell. Is it cranking slowly?

Starter is buzzing it round easy

Extra earth did nothing

Thinking it's coil too so may do the rotor arm and cap...

All ******* JIS screws hate them

No jap industry standard screws

Look like a Phillips but not a bloody phillips

Lol I was always thinking that my Phillips head was **** ha !

Rebuild mine or buy a new one from jap service parts??

Mine seems a but notchy when I turn it like the feeling of a bearing on its way out, I assume that's not normal??

Don't hold me too it but I think there's a magnet in there for one of the sensors. Mine feels the same way.

I might buy the replacement off r1motion he's guaranteed it as working, and maybe rebuild the old one as a spare. Hopefully it's just the coil, read something about an ICM in there too, is that replaceable as well?

I have a spare ignitor but it's a good 100k miles old. Shame your not local we could have tried my spares.

I'll have to figure it out the painful way.

Can't think of anything else it could be, as if it was immobilised or a bad earth etc it wouldn't inject but I'm definitely getting fuel.

It may well have been on its way out when that head and dizzy was on the previous b16a2 bottom end as it struggled to start and didn't like being revved blipped when running

P.s do I need to do anything to calibrate the TPS and IACV? Just fitted and plugged them in. It's a dc2 inlet manifold and TB to go with all the R internals in the head to match the C6 bottom end, so not the originals. Using my OBD1 loom and chipped P30.

Im also using the dc2 map sensor in the throttle body instead of the original separate one with a vac hose, plug fitted the same can't see why that would cause any issues.

Yazza54 tps need to be set to .48 ct and 4.48 ot ,
DID you download that honda service manual I sent you ?
As that will tell you how to adjust the tps and check
For bad/good iacv .

You will also need to do idle Relearn procedure after you set you tps.

The icm in the the dizzy do go bad also ,
But I would try a new coil first.
I went and got a new dizzy 180 euro it cost me ,
But they are cheep and not the best ,
My oem dizzy cap will not fit it for some reason.
And it weeps oil from the o ring ,
I think the round bit is off by some tho ,
As I used my old o ring from oem dizzy and
The weeping is the same , it never happened with my oem
Dizzy.
And the first dizzy I got did not time to 16deg
It only went to 13deg?
I had to bring it back , just buy coil cap and rotor and it be good to go .
And if still the car won't fire I'd look into the icm .

Sorry for long post lol
