Hi guys,

I'll be running skunk Pro1 cams on my B16B. Looking at 210bhp as a street driven car. I need some indepth info about injectors such as type and sizing.

I had my sights set on RC injectors but realised that the spray pattern is stream type instead of the stock cone type spray. Heard that 'aiming' the injectors onto the back of the valves etc might be needed. I'm not so sure about this.

I also calculated the size for the Lucas type to be between 310cc-370cc, 80%-85% duty cycle, BSFC 0.50, 46psi fuel pressure(stock). Which one would be more suited, 310cc or 370cc?

anyways, all in all my target is 210bhp.

Thanks guys

310cc injectors are what you need with a stock regulator.
As for the spray patter, its the larger injectors that are like beer taps, the smaller stuff still produces a good spray. Ford injectors will work fine and you can get them new for half the price. :nice: What you've hear about havig to aim the injectors onto the valves is wrong IMO, as the airflow on the intake stroke carries the fuel into the cylinders :nice:

and just FYI, even with 750cc to 1000cc injectors your car will still idle perfectly when properly tuned. :nice:

Just get RC440, rc is one of the best! i highly doubt all RC injectors shoot a striaght stream, that is usually common with very large injectors and high fuel pressures for high HP cars.

and as ek9turbo stated, large injectors idle and drive fine if tuned properly, i have RC750cc personally and zero problems.

and honest to god i didn't eve read ek9turbo's first post about the stream... lol, great minds think alike...

I would opt for S2000 injectors. They're 390cc @ 43psi of pressure.

They're OEM and they can be had for cheap as many S2000 guys seem to want bigger power in terms of going FI or whatever. Count on spending under $150.00 for a good set of used ones.

I always like to work with more in terms of injector capacity because "you never know" when you might need more fuel.

Thats a great suggestion! Bargain at that price.

Great info guys :nice:

RC310cc, RC370cc and S2k injectors were always on my mind.

However, I've heard that it was the other way around with the smaller RCs spitting out stream like and the larger RCs spraying cone shape. What are yours like Blinx?
Here is the thread Bosch high impedance disc injectors - Team Integra

The thing is, I've recently bought off some RC injectors off another forum user who had the wrong sizing. It was listed as 370cc for 300aud, which is cheap compared to brand new 500aud+. i thought it was a great and lucky buy until.......I received them, it was engraved SL9 310 which means its 310cc. The d1ckhead doesnt respond, so I might be stuck with them...

The question is;

-does the 310cc really shoot out stream or cone mist? Russel Colins uses Lucas type injectors for his wifes car. And it wouldn't make sense for him to put a stream type injector into an economy car.

If its a stream type spray, then wouldn't the S2k injector work much better for my goals?

I can run a higher duty cycle with the 310cc since the lucas type has a higher limit of 90%-95%dc compared to the pintle type 80%. 210bhp 85%dc = 315cc approx

Im also putting in skunk2 pro 1 cams, wheels, greddy belt,skunk2 springs + retainers, spoon throttle body,AEM fuel reg and gauge, hondata s300,and i plan to use RC 310 cc injectors ,had the cams and valve train for a while now just need the injectors ecu and get the stuff fitted and mapped

is that saturated or p&h? i thought there was a height difference? is it plug and play?

mine are 750cc but i dont think even those spray in a stream, i can call RC and find out if you like. If you already have the 310's just use them :nice:, if you end up needing more fuel sell them and get something larger...

All new hondas are saturated.

Height difference is only on the new RDX injectors which have issues with the clips to begin with IIRC.

That would be cool blinx!! I guess you will be able to ask more detailed questions...:nice:

I do have a SARD FPR. But I dont want to increase fuel pressure anymore than 49-50psi. The stock 46psi seems good with 85%dc.

Sounds good! Make sure you get a baseline dyno to compare the gains :nice: I'm looking at about 6 months before completion...

For the engine I've already got these parts;

TODA Cam gears
TODA Valve spring
Pro 1 cams
Skunk Titanium retainers
Skunk Cam seal
OEM belt or TODA ($75 vs $168)
SARD FPR + generic gauge
SPOON high tension cables
PFC + Commander

It would be good to change to a thinner gasket for a CR increase, but 0.2CR increase is just not worth the labour to pull off the head and reseals etc etc... if I pull off the head, I might as well look at forged pistons and head work. :)
