Hey all, well my car broke down last night, wouldnt start at all,

my mechanic has found the problem, and its the fuel pump,

the actual fuel pump works fine, its the power feed to it that isnt?

as if he runs it straight to the battery its fine and starts

so hes asked me, if any one has any wiring diagrams? or if it runs back to a relay or something?

can any one help?

Cheers

Dan

It runs to a relay under dash driver side. You need to start there. Look at the wire colours and you can spot it at the dash end so you can test the relay :nice:

You could have a bad main relay. It's located above your ECU (I think it's the same place with RHD cars)

yeh this is what Iv been told, that it is more than likly the main relay! can any one tell me the part number for that? also would it be same as a uk one?

More then likely the fuel pump relay, as ek9turbo said. Located under the dash on driver side near the bonnet release. These are all the same as the uk ones.

ok thanks mate, I had a toad alarm/immboliser fitted a few months back, could this be anything to do with the problem? as I was told the immboliser cuts the fuel

If it was because of the alarm, it usually don't allow the car to start at all. If its an on/off thing it must be the relay, when your car don't start give the relay a few knocks and it will most likely get your car started. But best bet is to get to scrap yard or something and try another one out.

ok cheers mate, what does the relay look like? been told its a brown box or something, is that correct?

Cheers Dan
