Ive a completely standard ukdm integra and was thinking of getting it mapped on a neptune chip! Im not sure if want to spend a fortune on mods as im pretty happy with car as it is but i like the launch control and vtec point lowering offered by neptune chip!
Will i see gains do you think?
Anyone mapped a standard car before?
Also what power do you think i would make?
Thanks
David

Launch control is just pub talk, had it on mine and not used it since first week of getting the car mapped, after showing mates.

Spend some money on second hand mods and then map!

As said already, mapping a standard car isn't really going to do much...

the whole point of mapping is to get the best out of the mods you already have installed.
Remember an integra is a 1.8 n/a so doesn't respond too well to mods on their own.

You'll see gains even on stock car but it will respond much better to tuning once you free up the exhaust and intake so the engine can breathe better.

as everybody else has said, mapping stock cars for gains only really applies to boosted vehicles

get a 2.5 inch exhaust on it and a good intake then map it and ull notice a good increase

if you going to do it with no mods , then the gain you would see would be small enough it probely bring it back to what is was new from factory , if you dont want to spend money or alot of money on mods get at least an induction kit or panal filter so free up the breathing a bit

Isn't a JDM ITR ECU a relatively good upgrade for these UKDM cars? They can be picked up for less than £50 from what I have saw.

High flow cat + CAI + programmable ecu you can get a 2 to 10 whp increase... In my ek9 i gained around 6 whp with this mods...

map it it will be faster than it is now and you wont sacrifice everyday driveability
do a full service sparkplugs, oils, filters, check timming, valve lash etc and then tune ecu
use a kn filter in the airbox if current is dirty or old.

it would be best if you add a header even a cheap 2hand one plm/dc are good
header will give the biggest gains even if you leave rest of exhaust stock.

i have seen 20bhp produced from an ep3 running a standard k20 with a k-pro.

it was the tuners car and he spent 8 hrs playing with it on his day off in work on his dyno, but he didnt keep the tune as he thought it was tuned to an inch of its life and would only last a couple of months or so.

but yeah i would deffo go for a better breathing mod ie filter, exhaust, de-cat

ha ha i just read what i wrote, classic..........i meant to say gained, but he did push that k20 to near death i wouldnt recomend it to anyone.

I think mapping a stock car will see some gain. I think mostly a wider powerband. Besides that lowering the VTEC point will also give you a wider powerband. Don't look for higher peak numbers and you'll be fine I think.

On the other hands, remapping will see you much bigger gains if you have some basic breathing mods.
