Ok well ive been with aviva for years now, a few years back ive owned a del sol sir, and a eg6. and a 2 litre smx. back when i was 19/20??
Now im 23 and tried to get insurance on a em1 coupe and a ek4 hatch and im theyre giving me the worst quotes ever. trying to charge me about 160 a month is ridiculous! Trying to charge me more than what i was paying when i was younger.

Has anyone got any decent insurance companies that are worth trying? That put my past cars ive owned into account and realise that now im older im more expierenced and give me money off? I just find it stupid the older im getting the more its costing should be the other way round. :please::angry::angry::angry::angry::angry:

everyone has differing circumstances so what may be good for me may be bad for you! this is a hard one to give advice on!

R.A.C were remarkably cheaper than so many companies for me.. As Jimbo said though there are so many variables to take into account.

I Highly suggest using sites like moneysupermarket or comparethemarket.

whoever comes out cheapest, call them and ask for a quote. if its more than online tell them you got a quote on so and so website and they will stick to it, but sometimes they give a cheaper quote by going straight to them ;)

try it and see how you get on dude, for reference my Glanza V was £1680 a year for my renewal, i have 3 NCB and im 24, i called the R.A.C and i **** you not they gave me a quote for £730 double checked everything and it was all correct at £730.

put it this way Aviva wanted £2300 :wow:

good luck. :nice:

Cheapest I could get on gocompare for my ek9 was 1200 a year, called sky and I pay sub 800... As others said already - insurance is a tricky one, the only advice I can give you is shop around a get as many quotes as you can!

Thanks guys ill try sky out in the morning. When trying compare the market it seemed alot of the companies said they dont even insure that car which baffles me as its not even an import.
Would i be better to phone them up personally? as like you said theres so many different variables that need to be taken into account.

I really envy some of the prices you guys are paying :phaha If i had a claim 3 years ago would it really go up that much? i was just really shocked to see the quotes im getting is priced what 17 year olds are paying for theyre clios ha.

We take into account prior driving experience. It can make a massive difference to an underwriters price on a quote knowing that you have driving similar performance vehicles in the past.

We are very competitive on modified and performance vehicles and if you wanted I could run a quote through on our EK9.ORG disocunt scheme.

In addition the forum discount if you cover less than 7500 miles you could qualify for a reduced mileage disocunt which can lead so some very good quotes.

If you wanted to drop me a PM with your contact details i could call you personally to run the quote. Should be able to get you a MUCH more competitive price.

I'm actually with Aviva now, renewed with them again in August 2012 and they were my cheapest - I insured both my EK3 and EK9 for approx £650 per year but I'm a fair bit older than 23 hence why its a lot cheaper.

However, I am expecting an increase of £200 per annum come next renewal as they have informed me because they cocked up my renewal and have my car down as a 2.0 insted of a 1.6 for some stupid reason - I am insured though even though they have corrected it now as an EK9 as they confirmed that as they made the mistake when I originally got quoted in August 2011 that they would honour it for this year until next renewal. They also will be requiring a certificate for the CAT1 alarm to prove the car is alarmed but as my car had the alarm already installed when I bought the car nearly 5 years ago, the previous owner lost the certificate so not sure on what to do to obtain a certificate as proof!

I can vouch for Neil @ Greenlight here. Their prices are outstanding.

To give you an idea, without being overly specific. I am 25 w/5 year ncb. To insure both of my cars through Neil [White stock ek9 facelift & r-motion's race EG from 2012] came in to give me a few hundred pounds change from £1k

The typical company you'd find on an insurance price comparison site will struggle with an import or modified cars, these sites are set up for standard UK car insurance.

Thanks mate glad you were please with the details. If you were to buy both policies at the same tie our underwriters sometimes allow joint purchase concessions so may even be able to get it a bit lower for you. Afterall you can only drive one at a time...unless you have very long arms and legs :naughty:
