I bought some BWR LCAs but i got a problem the drop link wont fit into the LCAs i been told the lca hole for the drop link shouldant be threaded and it's threaded bassicaly the drop link wont fit... The lad told me these would fit my ek9? Can anybody help??

mate it wont fit in it looks like the drop link is bigger then the hole for the LCA i have removed the drop link and tryed screwing it in and wont go... confused do i need a diffrent drop link for it to fit or are the LCA's just not the right ones :S hmmmm lol

Who told you lca shouldn't be threaded?

Most billet aftermarket lca's have threaded hole unlike the oem lca's that are plain hole.

As said the oem droplink screws into lca hole, can be wound in via allen key that fits into end of link, if that "rounds" then pointy nose vicegrips or likes behind droplink boot will turn it onto lca.

Sold loads of these with no problems, yes some people get confused as it differs slightly to standard set up.

What droplinks you running?
I ask as ive used oem and motorfactor links on these lca's with no problems.

I've had this issue with aftermarket lcas and non oem drop links.

Most brand drop links are the same as oem thread and screw in fine. I've had two different makes (think one was German) and the thread was a different pitch.

If the drop links don't screw in all the way with very little effort then try other ones. You don't want to chew the threads up. Steel drop links will easily mash through Alu lcas.

Yes seems that could be the problem buddy, thanks for that info.

If the current droplinks wont physically screw in then oem items or aftermarket items with same pitch need to be used, even if your local motorfactors had them in stock you could check they work.
I know its an extra cost but changing droplinks is a good thing to do when fitting these lca's
as it makes fitment much easier and peace of mind they are done also.

Any problems pm me please.

i will give ir another go but im telling you these lca's dont fit with my oem drop links the drop link seems abit too big for the hole i dont know what to do lol? you could of atleast told me before buying these... what should i do?

I garuantee that oem drop links work fine as it's oem ones that I use.

I suspect it's a pattern part you have fitted on your car now and it's a different thread.

Pretty simple solution get a drill bit the same size as the largest point of your drop link and open the hole to size required and hey presto, the oem arms arnt threaded so drill these makes no different

You are not running same thread pattern oem droplinks if they dont screw into the BWR lca,
simples.
As stated the odd replacement droplink offered from manufacturers will have different thread pattern and you seem to have these fitted.

I cant tell what thread droplinks people are using and im sure nobody can tell at at a glance either but I know the BWR lca's are made to take oem thread droplinks.

You need to swop over the droplinks for everything to work 100% as you seem to be using one of the very few droplinks that dont fit aftermarket lca's.

You also wont be able to fit a nut also due to width of BWR lca !

Aftermarket lca's are designed to be used with oem droplinks and omit the nut thru lca.

Original poster you have msg replied via facebook page.

To clear things up some droplinks which are non OEM ie "pattern"/"Motorfactor" items will have a different thread pitch and when being used with "billet" lca`s will cause problems.

There is very few that differ but seems they are out there, i had a new set of MOOG (terrible name yes) droplinks here i bought while back so went and got them out to see if they fitted.

droplink screwed in by hand with no problems at all......

Thats 3rd set of aftermarket droplinks i have tryed on BWR lca`s and all fit, but as said there must be few that differ.
As i already said to the guy in question, i can supply the very droplinks pictured or genuine oem Honda items :nice:

I think it was merkle ones I had that didn't fit. Was a shame as they were a lot beefier than oem ones.

strange tho the previous owner must of changed the drop links back in japan then.. what drop links would be best to use? how much are the oem ones you supply mate?

OEM droplinks will be much better than any tbh in the long run.

Will price them up anyway and contact you.
