Been advised to get hks 10w45 racing oilvfor my b16b but would prefer to get some opinions before I buy it, I've always used motul before since I got the engine and was wondering if anyone had used this stuff??

Jdm points oil.
I use gulf competition 10w40 which is good
or stick to the motul

How much is that stuff anyway?
5w30 fully synthetic is best for b16b in my opinion.
Was using motul good oil but I found it burned off a bit
Switched to valvaline 5w30 and find it great on cold start
And It does not burn off ,
That with my engine 96 sir2.

I run gulf competition oil in mine, 10w40 and doesn't seem to burn any or very little.

Had motul stuff in mine and it seemed to burn that off very quickly.

i think I will stick to Mr Hondas opinion

Just stick to a good semi 10w 40 mate. No need to overcomplicate when it comes to oil.

Same here the motul burnt off very quickly for me too

That's what works for me ,but may not for others,
I went through lots of oils till I found one
That suits my engine and driving conditions
But it's the cold start that does the damage
And 5w30 will flow the same when cold
As 10w40 does when hot ,
When both are hot ie 10w40 and 5w30 they both have the
Same viscosity,
So makes sense to me also to stick with 5w30 fully synthetic.

I'm using Shell helix 5w40 fully synthetic on my B16b, did one track session and didn't use a drop of oil. My engine revs more freely compare to 10w40, I was recommended 5w40 by my tuner, oilman, a honda dealer and some guys on here.

Nothing annoys me like an oil thread.

Its not like choosing clothes!

Get a good synthetic such as Gulf, Motul or Millers in 10w40 and stop worrying about it.

Any effect you can notice will be psycological unless you are an oil gallery.

Dont gun it when cold, and change it every year or depending on usage for a track car, and sleep easy.

True story.
Use the manufacturers recommended grade and pick a brand you like.

its better to copy and paste the link rather than a page of writing to scroll through

I say keep it up as long as the moderators are okay with it.

Also engine oil has come a long way since honda put oil spec's on there engines back in the 90s
