HKS Carbon Fibre Muffler/ Back box

i personally dont like the sound, it also sounds like the exhuast was hitting something. im sure that exhuast has a huge resonator cause those exhuasts are usually really loud.

I had to double check it was a civic at first Blinx. It sounded a little bit like a scooby bro. So you would'nt recommend one then?

It sounds cool, if you like it you should go for it! I prefer the mugen exhaust :nice:

Got any sound/video clips of a mugen rvm?. My frabricator will be building my system hopefully. His systems sound very much like the hks muffler in the above clip i.e. deep in tone. Many prefer their systems to have a more raspy note to them, but I kinda like the sound of the one above:)

I don't have a sound, but its very very silent sound until vtec kicks in, if you want to get noticed on the street the mugen exhaust is not for you hehe, but I also got some awesome performance results with the mugen twin loop exhaust muffler :)

i agree, thats why i didnt like it, it might have been a civic with a sinlge cam engine.

Yeah, I reccon it sounds awesome :nice:

Blinx, do single cam hondas sound different to twin cams?

Are you serious my friend?? Of course they do!! if you just compare the sound of a 1.6 L Sohc Vtec with a 1.6 L Dohc Vtec is completely different.........And this is due to the fact that Honda's Dohc Vtec engines are all high performance engines. There are other car makers though that develop Dohc engines that do not exceed 105 bhp nowadays and these engines are very similar to sohc.
Now you have reminded me a friend of my who had a 1998 1.6 L Sohc Vtec 115 bhp stock hatch and he beat the Mazda 3 which runs a 105 bhp Dohc engine :D

Cool. I was refering to the fact that, the ek in that vid sounds like a flat four engine, so I wanted to know how the two differ in sound i.e. sohc to dohc. Surely what exhaust ect must be taken into account of how a paticular car sounds?
I'm still pretty new to hondas, so just tryin to get as much info as possible

You left your camera there, like that! :wow:

Sounds awesome but I think a B series VTEC engine will never sound like that. Those refuse to stop screaming...

Sounds to me like a unequal length exhaust manifold, though.

Do any manufacuters make unequal length mani's for the b16b? What are they like performance wise compared to equal length mani's?

Most likely not. If there's one its probably custom or a badly made one.

Performance wise they hurt high end power big time. Especially on NA cars.
