How do you guys fare against FN2 Type R's

I was dropping a friend home the other night just cruising along etc, when this fn2 came flying up behind me. He was seriously p**si*g me off driving right up my ass etc. I could hear him holding the car in vtec, but after he realised I was'nt going to take the bait, overtook me and sped off.
A few years back I would have just dropped it a gear and risen to it, but I'm getting wiser on the roads these days and believe street racing is best left for the track, especially if your driving with a passenger in the car.

I know theres been threads on here about ep3's v ek9's but have any of you guys ever been against an fn2 on track etc? If so how did you do against them?

Thanks

recently i went to Ascari race resort in Malaga spain, i tracked my ek4... which is not a '9'... tho there was a FN2 with some light mods etc... & it was no match for the EP3's on the day.

tho again the driver is what counts! :drive: :D

I dont know much about the car, since im from the states, But im guessing if you were in your younger days :) I think you would have taken him/her?? I believe its a k20A, which is our Rsx type S motors, I think Correct me if im wrong or mistaken, Somewhere around 200 bhp, and not pushing anymore then 8000 rpms? I also believe their heavier then an ek, hence giving you quite the advantage. Just my two cents, but i think you would have had them lookin at your tails :)

Sorry guys I can't fine much of a spec list on them:

Honda (Mugen JDM) Civic Type-R specifications - www.mycivictype-r.co.uk

But ye DwP02, I'm pretty sure your correct on the specs etc you listed.
A couple of years back in my teenage days, I would'nt of thought twice about trying it on with him, to see what would happen lol. But as I said I'm more cautious etc when I'm on the roads these days. Would love to see how I do against one on the track though maybe

I'd be interested to see the same driver in both an EP3 and a FN2, I don't think there'd be much difference between the two.

FD2 on the other hand.... :D

Cheers,
Alex

ek9 should win, you should have smashed on your brakes when the arse was behind you, i hate those people!!

Cant comment on the 9, but on Top Gear Clarkson did a full test EP3 v FN2, EP3 won hands down, sprint, handling and their test track.

wow, then that means ek9 will win for sure as i remember Jeremy doing an Ep3 vs. EK9 a long time ago and ek9 won big time!! Jeremy kept saying that the ep3 is newer and has more power and should be fast but its not cause its so heavy!!

well i raced one in my 9 and beat it with nothing more than a backbox and de-cat so there is your answer:D

wholly agree with you here, after one of my freinds had a nasty smash on the highway and nearly killed my youngest brother in the process,, save it for the track guys, very wise words here :nice::nice::nice: :drive:

yeah should probz add that i was by myself and it was a wide 2 lane road and was no one else around, wasn`t tryin to sound like i drive about like an arse there:) and as olly says "fools speed" !

Anyone know where i can find this. Didn't know they have ever had an EK9 on top gear? Would love to see what clarkson has to say about the 9 lol.

yet to be beaten by an ep3. and had a new civic behind me coming off a roundabout and was pulling on him in all gears.they just havent got the aggresiveness and nimblness that the 9s have

Fd2!!

think new FN2 is inferior without the rear independant sus... thing which made all civic generations a great handling hatch!!

FN2 and EP3 has bad suspension to begin with... unlike our double wishbone EK9s.

We have one locally stripped from 1350kgs to about 1200kgs and increased 40+whp with only Exhuast, Intake and ECU. Stock cams! Thats the kind of gains that our B-series would be envious of. It the kind of car that requires a lot of tuning on the suspension side like tyre pressure, damper, etc etc to get it running very well. A car like this isnt something to take lightly.

A stock FN2 has some serious pulling torque at the bottom and mid range. Very suprising for a 1350kg car. But that modded one with 150kgs reduction and 40whp gain is very quick!
