I just want to know what kind of EK9 fan you are.

Choose from one of the poll options above and explain your reason for choosing that option in the reply.

Simple really!

I'll go 1st.

I chose die hard EK9 fan.

This is because I have loved them ever since I 1st laid eyes upon them and have been desperate to own one for many many years now.

I have learnt heap of stuff about them through forums, websites, owners etc and cannot wait to join in properly and own one.

I feel like it is the missing part of me and it IS my dream car.

I would rather own an EK9 over anything else. No supercar is a match in my eyes.

Some people think that is stupid, but I have a passion and that is deffinatly for the B16b!!!

dropped from a 320bhp car to this ek9 because i love their presence and handling, chassis is excellent and love the red recaros....the only thing i dont like about the ek9 is that their only around 180bhp standard:angry2: if these cars were 220bhp standard then they would be one of the best cars in the world imo,220bhp would leave it the perfect power for perfect handling imo

i love the ek9, but i dont fit into any of those options, i honestly think one day i will move away from it, if honda brings out a new car thats appealing i will stay in the honda camp, if not i may jump ship, ive been in the honda game for A LONG, time, sometimes i get a little tired of it...

:drive:

I wished too!!! It is true that the only con of this car is the engine power. It is the only issue streched by anti -EK9ers to hide their jealousy....:) Just have a talk with one of them to see what I'm talking about, the car will be transformed into a piece of crap because of this :D If it was 220bhp from factory, this car would have been a masterpiece!!
At least there are parts out there to do that! Thank you Skunk2, 5Zigen.... thanks in advance Mugen and Volk Rays for thinks to come....

Its my first Honda & its the one! After the test drive I wanted it more than any other car. Its a special feeling slipping into that Recaro seat. The handling and the noise! Gutted this crimbo when somebody keyed both sides. Full respray treat coming later this year & a garage to keep my EK9 safe hopefully.

for me there is no car like the ek9. its a car iv wanted to own for years just dont have the money to buy one so had to settle for its little brother the ek4. only thing is when u buy your dream car it aint a dream anymore. so i mite just get a teg and still dream of owning prob the best fwd car in the world

its my dream car an anyone that owns one u no how they make u feel the first time u hit vtec in them it gives u that tingly feelin up ur spine wen u feel the kick an hear that change of the exhaust note go from a fast paced exhaust note to a to a vibrant yowl...that tingle up my spine never went away its the same everytime i hit vtec no other car compares to the 9 in my eyes!!

I remember than feeling from my VTi.

I just always laughed...no...giggled like a little childish kid who is excited at Christmas!

VTEC won my heart many years ago and I doubt I will ever fall out of love from it!

Well other than the Colt Cyborg the EK9 is about as good as a 1600cc NA gets. The EK9 has the added bonus of it looking good from any angle, whereas the Colt looks like it's been shunted in the rear by a double decker bus.

I honestly can't think what car can replace my 9. I can't see me getting bored of it.

I dont own a honda but have always loved it yearss
hope to own one when i have the money if theres any left by that time.

I don't think i fall into to any of these either like blinx. If I had the cash to, I'd get one or make a Midori Green Pearl LHD CTR clone or out of my EJ6 (or get or clone an SiR). It'll probably keep the B16A2 but would be turbo'd, or I'd go all motor Poor Man's ITR (GSR block, B16A head). But I would love to have a whole multitude of cars.

Some dream cars of mine are Nissans like an RB26DETT swapped Kouki S14, an S13 Sylvia or converted 240SX coupe (Sylvia front end, SR20DET swap), an R33 or R34 Skyline GTR, a 300ZX TT, SR20DET 280Z (I've seen one and it is frickin awesome), so on so forth.

But of course, I'm a Honda head through and through. I want an EH hatch (92-95) with a swap of course, an 06-08 Civic Si (I really like the 07-08 Si sedans), an EM1 (99-00 Si), a 93-01 Prelude VTEC (or an H22 swapped 92 and up Si), H22 swapped 90-93 Accord, 06-07 Accord 6-speed V6, DC2 Integra Type-R (with either USDM or JDM front, i don't care), A DC2 GSR, A DC2 Turbo LS, a DA GSR (rare and might could get one if I tried but I love EJ6 too much), an NSX, RSX Type-S, TSX 6-speed, a TL Type-S, and of course, the S2000.

I'd like a coupla Toyotas too. An AE86 Corolla GTS (or a JDM Sprinter Trueno) :D , a Mk.IV Supra, a 2JZ swapped Mk.III Supra, a turbo'd IS300, a Celica GT-Four, a Turbo MR2, and strangely enough, a 98ish Tacoma or 4Runner SR5 V6 4x4.

So I have a wide interest in vehicles. I like the EK9 but there are plenty of other vehicles for me.

its been a dream car of mine for ages...plus it has that certain rareness still to it which i love.
vtec is another thing that bites you and doesnt let go :) as everyone has said it brings that childish smile to your face ;)

the only thing that i think will take me away from it is the noise (mostly lack of sound deadening) im slowly moving away from the loud boy racer cars and thats the only thing that bugs me.

Yea...you could always put sound deadening in yourself?!

If your not worried about weight saving etc...it would be a good 'mod'.

Had my 2000 Rx now for about 6 months now and still love every moment driving it. I can't walk away from this car without looking back to admire it and think this puts me in the Die hard EK9 fan category.
This cars a work of art as far as I'm concerned.

I know its limitations and downsides also with engine power (measily 185bhp:D) , low torque, cost of insurance etc but that doesnt bother me.
I could easily sell this car and with the money (or less) get something faster but I would regret it for sure.

And for the people who have traded their Ek9 solely for a faster car probably shouldnt have bought one in the first place as theres so much more to it than that.

Sure, there are plenty cars faster out there but this car isn't slow by any stretch.
With only a 1.6 engine I always feel like I'm driving an underdog that really shouldn't stand a chance against much on the roads but as we all know thats just not the case.

Regardless of what car I own in the future, I've driven the Ek9 now and know how special it is.:nice:

Indeed.

i don't understand it when people say that the cars downside is the power.

185bhp as standard from a 1600cc engine is immense!

It had the most power in its class when it came out and probably still does. Not sure.

And it doesn't have bad torque figures either. Again...it's only a 1600cc!

ye i have considered some..maybe just doing the boot. not sure yet.. i can live with it for now ;) not quite in the sensible area of my life yet .lol

this is my 5th years of owning a driving an ek9 now
just think at 37 iam a little old to drive a white civic with a big spolier on the roof now :(

If it puts a big grin on your face why change it, Im 36.

well as much as i have loved the ek9 it is time for a change now
the the fact the i want some thing a bit fater now i can afford it

i expect to be driving one at the end of febuary and cant honestly wait, i`ll get some pics up of her, as shes still in japan!
