i've always wanted a type r! so when the opportunity came up i couldn't let a stock one in mint condition go by now could i?! :naughty:

185bhp as standard from a 1600cc engine is immense!

It had the most power in its class when it came out and probably still does. Not sure.

And it doesn't have bad torque figures either. Again...it's only a 1600cc!

yes it does have great performance for a 1600cc engine BUT my point is that their just not near fast enough as standard,if honda had put a b18 tuned to 220bhp then it would be a savage car altogether,the ek9 is the slowest car ive owned in a long time but i love them and it will soon be pushing some nice fun bhp:D
 
i voted "some other reason" & here is my opinion; the EK9 is the only FF sport compact car worth owning not because of it's power but because of it's suspension & chassis, this car talks to you through the seat of your pants just like my CBR, simply put it is very predictable.

i won't be modding the engine for 200+hp, the stock engine is more than enough for a corner carver like me, i am going to master the basic skills first (heel & toe) before i splurge the cash on the engine. power is nothing without control & the EK9 is the epitome of control in the FF class.
 
I love the ek9, i always wanted to own one, but i had to have my vtec fix with a del sol vti, later in a twist of fate i had a full b16b swap in the del sol thanks to one of my boss working in japan, and i just love the machine, still i havent given up to go and get a full ek9 to the uk one day :D
 
i've always wanted an EK9 since the first time i saw one :woot:

my friend pulled up at the side of the road in his a couple years back and i was in aww of how it looked and the sound when he vtec'd it up the road was unreal, wanted once since, now that i have one i can see me holding onto it for a long time, makes me smile everytime i drive it :D
 
If the came with the itr's b18c engine as standard they would have been the perfect car...
 
dunno, i think that the b16b suits the ek9, the whole revving the nuts out of it is all part of the fun of driving it :woot:

Well i am 34, wanted something a bit faster so with a few £'s to spare and together with the sale of my own mugen ek9 the plan was set.
The only 2 cars i was considering was a original 93 NSX Type R in white / red interior. Only prob with this is i would be too paranoid to drive it let alone take it on track days. So that just left the fastest VTEC ever produced and a real track day animal, oh and yes one of the quickest production cars you can buy on the planet. Yes its the Atom 300 :drive: :bow:


But the wife then found a new house :nono:, so that plan is no hold for a while now:shocked:.

All is not lost, i still have my ek9's i am selling i can use:)

I agree with EK9s should've came with the B18C. B16B is a true N/A king but, if it had 200bhp out of factory then that would've made up for it.
 
i'm die hard, simply i'm just amazed by.....almost everything of it, its realli the king of 1.6 till now, that is 2008, plus i don't think i need a 1000hp skyline to satisfied me, all i need is just the king of 1.6! plus its hatchback style and everything just doesn't make it a 10yr old car....i rather had one than the CTR FD2, doesn't care if FD2 is much faster, all i need is to know that the EK itself is faster enough for me, and the fact that i'm behind the wheel is more than enough to tell myself i'm the winner even if i'm being overtaken hihi
 
always been a big honda fan, was at an additional week at collage a while back and a guy in my class had an ek9, went a blast to the shop at lunch and couldn`t believe how good it was. Been hooked ever since !!:bow:
 
Yeh have to say the ek9 is the car ive always wanted i had a civic jordan before and spent lots of money trying to replicate the ek9 with no success. It is the nicest looking civic ever made,and the red recaros are amazing. Plus making 185bhp from a 1.6 is mental. Funniest thing is half the people on the road here dont even think it is a type r they just think its a stickered up civic! I just love vtec
