I am thinking on selling up my EK9 :( and I am not really sure what it is worth

Not something I want to do, but needs must at the moment ( I have changed my mind a few times whilst writing this)
I know it is worth more in bits, but I would prefer to see it go complete and get the cash in a lump rather than sitting on bits for ages waiting for them to sell and having to post everything

I bought it as a shell and have been building it as a track car, its not finished but doesn't need that much more to finish it off. I have basically replaced and refreshed everything as it is going back together
I have just not had any time lately to get any work done on it, could do with freeing up some cash

Spec of the Car is

  • 2000 Facelift EK9
  • Clean Solid Shell with No Rust, no major marks at all
  • Freshly undersealed using the 2 step dinitrol process
  • Engine bay freshly painted
  • Partial Wire tuck, I have tucked the lighting etc. looms but not the engine loom for ease of taking the engine in and out
  • Subframe and other suspension components freshly painted.
  • Rigid Collar kit fitted to subframe
  • Steering rack converted to manual (done properly)
  • New track rod ends, tie rods where inspected and found to be good
  • New Anti Roll Bar Drop Links
  • New Spoon compliance bushes
  • New Hardrace Front LCA Bushes
  • New Meister R Zeta-R Coilovers
  • New Cyberspeed Front Camber Arms
  • New Cyberspeed Extended Ball Joints
  • Cyberspeed Rear Lower Control Arms
  • New OEM Rear Trailing Arm Bushes
  • Standard EK9 Alloys (in ok knick)
  • Volk Racing Lug Nuts (replicas I think but still cost a fortune)
  • New M-TEC Drilled and Dimpled Discs Front + Back
  • New Freddo DS2500 Pads Front + Back
  • HEL Braided Lines
  • Callipers freshly painted
  • 1" Master Cylinder
  • Willwood in car adjustable bias valve
  • I was planning on removing the ABS but still have all the bits that will go with the car
  • OMP Bucket Seats
  • OMP Steering Wheel + Boss
  • EK9 Front Door Cards
  • EK9 Dash with heater controls and glovebox
  • Passenger airbag removed and replaced with a Teshi carbon blanking plate (still have airbag if required)
  • I have a FIA cut off switch, ignition switch and starter button to be fitted
  • Odyssey PC680 Battery + Cage in car under passenger seat, not wired yet but everything is there
  • Fire Extinguisher - Not yet plumbed in
I am sure there is plenty more i have missed as well

I also have more stuff that would go with the car but not yet fitted

  • B18C4 with lightened flywheel and exedy clutch
  • B16 Gearbox + driveshafts
  • P28 ECU with B18c4 map
  • shifter linkages with poly bushes
  • Injen intake
  • Full set of red Samco hoses
  • Powerflow Exhaust
  • NGK Silicone Leads
  • Also have boxes of various parts i have collected over the years that would go as well
  • And I am sure that there is other bits and bobs I have forgotten about
My build up can be found here or on thrll

ill take it off your hands for free ;)

has no brake lines?
whats with the white spoiler too?

Brake lines have not been run yet, but all the pipe and fittings are there

Boot and spoiler are white because they are from another car, they were not on the shell when I got it

Nice car shame you have to sell. It'll be difficult to price it up TBH loads of new parts but the fact it will need to go on a trailer will alone put many people off. Don't expect to get anything near what you poured into it, 3k maybe a bit more if you're lucky.
@LoganK this might be of interest to you :)

It is a shame for me to sell up, but at the moment it is looking like the only option

I know I will never get back the money I have put into it
I did add it all up at the beginning but I stopped counting when I got to around £5k
Decided that it best not to know how much i have spent lol

I may just break it and sell off some parts to raise some cash and go back to it when I can

Sorry to hear about your job loss - hope you get something soon :nice:

Perhaps it could be worth finishing the car off and selling it complete, ready for the new owner to drive away?

Price will be base on..
how bad do you need the money ?
do you really need to sell it or not ?

If you were to break it up, at least everything will come off easily as it has just been built up.
And it wont take long to strip it as the main bits are not fitted.
Downside is wrapping stuff up for posting. Its a pain in the arse.

This is the worst thing about breaking a car.
Once I had 17 packages in my front room all being collected the next day by couriers. Pita
As said, doubt your going to get much for it.
It's in parts ATM, it's b18c4 aswell so less desired by some.
If you really must sell it as one then eBay is going to be your friend.
Personally I'd sell it in parts. Atleast the bulky parts to raise good cash.
You've got a clean shell so it's worth £1000+

Wish this was for sale a few months back when before i bought mine,
The work that's been done looks good. Such a shame for you not to be able to finish and enjoy it.
If you decide to sell off a few bits I'd be interested in some parts, mainly the coilovers

I don't know what the seats are like but I could possibly be into them.

I quite like the wrapping part... it's therapeutic

It would be a shame to just sell up as a whole, as you will loose a lot. Breaking will get the most money back, and people are always after Honda parts so there will be no problem in shifting parts.

I was on first name terms with my courier by the time I had sold everything from my car. Nearly took him out for a beer :meet:

Im now thinking of just selling off the suspension stuff just now to free up some cash and see how things go

I am looking £600 for them, they are brand new only fitted to the car.
Has been on axle stands bar maybe 2-3 hours while I moved garage
Will throw in the red top nuts as well ;)

Yeah a clean black ek9 shell is 1k all day. I honestly think people will pay a fair bit more than that aswell.

as in bare shell with body panels ?

I am trying to work out a price as a rolling shell as there seems to be alot of interest in it
