How to Check if your Recaro seats arent fake?

it isnt new to see someone rocking some fake recaros at all. im thinking about getting a set for my self, theres been some on criaglists and some place's on honda tech and what not floating around for sell,

My question is , how do you spot a fake recaro seat?

the logo is on the plastic of the frame..never have seen fake ones with recaro logos

i used to have a set of fake recaro in my car

the black one is fake, and the red one is real. the trim where the harness go through is made of plastic in the fake one while the real one is suede. also fake one comes usually come with universal rail. also the thing u adjust ur back position is circular shape while the real one is triangular.

Not entirely true about the harness holes, standard recaro Speeds (genuine ones) have plastic harness inserts, only the type-Rs came with the suede, could have been swapped out

usually the quality is a sure fire give away, fakes are cheap for a reason

i might be wrong but from that picture the black one does not seem to have any visable stitching seam along the edges of the seat

it depends if you are talking about the ek9 recaro seats as these are unique to the ek9 , recaro also do many similar looking models to this seat . again quality should be a dead giveaway , not sure if this is gospel but i find recaro seats stiffer than most others so i wouldnt expect it to be as soft as lets say a tenzo r seat .

Also, looking at the black seat, the thigh support is smaller, the base sits higher and the bolsters are sharper where the red ones are rounder.

Yes I think so, at least here in the states..

Correct sir! There is a test on youtube comparing Recaro to Bride during a crash test and the Recaro seat is MUCH stiffer, i have a genuine Recaro and can vouch for this attribute, i often times push myself against the back of the seat to crack my back and the seat does not flex! I push so hard the steeringwheel starts to bend!!

Those are real... They're different from the one in the 1st post... Red stitching etc... They look very clean too

The close up looks like its of a real recaro with the red cloth....the pair of 'recaros' in other pics have no 'red cloth' on them so the close up doesn't look like of one of the pair.......imo

The guy is selling the pair for 215 dollars. What would you recommend? Should I buy these or not? I mean I don't want to spend north of 200 bucks just to find down the road that these are not the real ones
