How to kill the speedlimiter?

Hi,

I want to know how I can kill the 180 kph speedlimit. Do I have do change the ecu? If yes, what ecu I have to take? Hondata? How much would that cost for the ek9?

btw, on monday I got him

a new ecu would do it....hondata is a good choice.

that or you could use piggybacks such as the VAFC...

A friend of mine got an ecu with launch control etc in his eg6. Is that possible with the hondata too or how can I modify my ecu in combination with that delimiter or hks-thing?

You see, I got no idea of that but i know how to build that things in it... confusing

hondata has launch control.

you will require an OBD1 ecu 92-95 civic will work, SOHC or twin cam as it will be modified to accept the hondata.

Then you will need a harness adapter to go from OBD2 to OBD1
OBD2 to OBD1 Conversion Harnesses

These harnesses can also be found for cheaper on eBay...but buyer beware.

OBD2B is correct.

Hondata only runs off OBD1 ecus.

Hi i have converters in stock. If you fit it by the ecu then the speedo will still work in km/h. Otherwise most Jap VTEC controllers or aftermarket electronic gadgets also derestrict it.

Just buy a converter to change it to mph, that will de-restrict it and they are only around £20-£30.

go with hondata get a p28 or p72 OBD1 with hondata s100,s200 or s300

I have the same problem. At the track I keep hitting the Speed Limiter at the end of the front straight.

The next cheapest is the Apexi RSM. The product description mentions Speed limiter cut:

You can also go with hondata s100. But it looks like that will require you to take it to a shop to dyno tune and reprogram the s100. Pretty cool, but pricey, and if the car has mild boltons, i dont think you will see much gain.... dunno tho

Does anyone know if the Apexi AFC NEO will do Speed Limiter cut too? i'd rather remap my v-tec and fuel maps, than have a pretty lcd gauge display.
