Here's the problem I thought I had a blower head gasket signed were droplets in the oil no heating bubbling in the rad although the car has only been used everyday for past month to get to and from work 5 min drive in a village so past cpl nights been taking it a roughly 20 mile blast and temp sits happy just above half way now there's no droplets in oil no bubbles and the heating is back its a 1.4 1997 ej9 could it be the head or am a just para ??

Hey mate if an engine only does short runs and doesn't get time to warm up properly and thin the oil down the head of the engine can stay cold whilst the lump and bottom end increases thus creating condensation inside the engine which could be your problem a sure sign of this is the minging mayo that builds up on the oil filler cap hehe although now you've taken your car for a good 20 mile run more often it will have warmed up enough to "dry" out so to speak the moisture fingers crossed its this and not the headgasket....... do you see any white smoke? more often that not the oil will pass into the coolant as its higher pressure than the water thus filling your cooland with oil but sometimes the opposite is true

Only see the white smoke on cold mornings then when weather warms up or car warms up it goes a think the only way I can find out properly is a compression test but need to wait till next week garages closed up here :(

Just phoned a few garages and they said a test would be between £30-40 and not untill next week then I phoned a wee small garage n he said that a compression test would be useless and explained to me that it could have been a air lock or what V-TEC BABY said so am going to say I dnt have a gasket problem and get the finger out stop working so much and start driving the car lol thanks for the advice n help V-TEC BABY

Go to a garage and get a sniff test done. The odd comma wouldn't go amiss either....
