I know this varies hugely from area to area etc, but anyone shed any light on what insurance would be for a 20yr old, 3 years ncb, no points or claims?

i would have thought somewhere near £1000 but completely unsure....

Will eventually get round to ringing insurance company but bogged down with work

cheers

lol sorry mate, would be on an ek9 type r! i know again it will probably vary slightly from each car but an ish would be ideal

and are you in the uk mate or where abouts ?i in ireland ya see

When I was 22 (nearly 4 years ago) with 4 years no claims the cheapest I got for my first year (first insurance on a Type R badge - matters for some insurance co's) was £1380 (eCar) and that was almost a one off low price! Next lowest was £1800 then £3800 then £5200 a small cluster of 7 quotes at £7k to £12k two stragglers at something like £15k to £20k ( ) then point blank refusal from over 40 insurers. (I recall the quotes well - I still have them in a folder too so I can amuse myself now and then!

I'm based 5 minutes from Santa Pod Raceway, UK. :p (Location makes a HUGE difference.)

Now just turning 26 with 8 years NCB, admiral multicar with 5 (soon to be 6!) Honda's gracing our driveway. EK9 (with cold air feed, suspension and alloys declared) is £311 for the year and my MB4 daily is £237. That's fully comp, with social, domestic, pleasure and travel to & from work cover on both. To Admiral ... :thanks:

Hopefully that helps?

I'll be interested to see what other people are paying! I have the task of trying to insure my stripped, caged, custom built, no ABS, no power steering, no Air Bags, DC2 track car when it's done in March time! Ideas? :please:

(I was feeling in a smiley mood today!)

Sorry, but there's absolutely no point asking this kind of question... Go on gocompare or similar website and try it there, will take you 10 mins.... Far too many variables when it comes to insurance!!!

yea i am going to ring my insurance company, but as said i have been swamped with work and had no time. just wanted to see what people are paying. plus the comparison websites give outrageous quotes that are way over the top
