Hiyaz

Ive just received my clutch kit that i was recommended by J700OCK as he uses the same clutch and says good things.

Now the question is, is this the EXEDY stage 1 kit?(refer to pics)

@J700OCK, as you have this kit, did it come in this packaging and is this what your kit looked like?

I know this may sound stupid but i dont want to be mugged off with say an OEM kit when i specifically payed more for an upgrade.

Any conformation would be great.

looks like stage1 alright.think oem only has 4 torsional damping springs, that has 6. not 100% though.

thanks chaps,

Can anyone shed some light on that warning notice lol

This is stage 1...6 double springs on the disc :nice:

I have one, for performance its great...for daily drive in my opinion its quite "powerfull"

Right that's made me feel alot better. And the warning notice, this is what I thought Olly but wasn't 100%.

I got this from a guy on eBay, was up for £235 but I offered him £215 and took it so I was quite happy with that. That's including delivery.

it also means its not designed for race use so if your launchung on a daily basis and just generally dogging it all the time it could fail.but for street and spirited driving would be fine.

Well ive driven my car on OEM clutch very hard at times, done about 17 drag runs and many spirited runs and the clutch has always coped so i sure dam hope this can :nerv: As im planning on a few tracks days this year.

are you using the bearing supplied with it?

I wont be no, as a few have already advised me to go for the OEM release bearing. I hate that noise when they go and dont want it back any time soon.

Bit of a bitch as its an extra £40+, but oh well.

Right can anyone confirm 100% that the stage 1 comes with 6 springs?

As its been brought to my attention that it may have 4, as Johns has 4 heavy duty springs and looking at the ebay listing the picture shows 4 spings, but they sent me one with 6 as shown in my photos.

Now, i googled stage 1 EXEDY clutch and most pictures indicate it has 6 springs but some show 4, that is getting me thinking..........

Does anyone actually know how many springs its supposed to have? Is the amount of springs important? Does the amount of springs souly indicate what stage clutch it is?

Bump, anyone, bit worried about this, dont want to fit this before i know. Im also waiting on a response from the seller to see what he says about it.

arite mate me personaly would ring exedy up and confirm with them as they will tell you right there and then what the script is after all they make them.
as for how man springs they have my advise would be not to be panicing to much as manufactuares change the way they make products from time to time and most of there kits look the same it will be the part numbers that will tell you whether its a stage 1 .
me personaly would just call them get there number from there website infact here you go done it for ya save messin 01928571850
hope this helps

Nice one bro, i'll give them a call hopefully tomorrow :nice:

Ive been reading up and im pretty certain its a stage 1 organic. Apparently organic grips better but doesn't last as long. I would like to be certain in what im actually putting in my car before it goes in though. He did state on the listing "Exedy organic RACING clutch driven plate"

Here is the listing:

thanks again.

hope all goes well mate

sent you a pm with my number dude . fire me a text once you get it

i got a oem replacement and had only four springs so more than likely its stage one man:)

I found out it is a stage 1 organic. I wasnt looking for an organic but reading through different threads on forums seems a good few have really rated the clutch. I dont know as ive never tried it.

I cant find any information what so ever on an EXEDY ceremetalic stage 1, only a stage 2. Seems there is only an organic stage 1 kit made by EXEDY.

Does anyone with alot of experiences in this department know or can help us out in my confusion??? And give me definite answers.

John has been very helpful so far.
