Alright lads, I have as we speak just fitted an ITR manifold to my B16a, The only issue I have is that on the front of the intake manifold, there is a fitting for a sensor of some type which I dont have, Any ideas?

This is the one I mean :

Can I run the car without this for a week as I have work tomorrow or is it bad news?

thanks in advance

joe

I think that is the manifold air temp sensor but im not 100%.

At the end of the day if your car is not fitted with one then it does not need it to run.

Not all civic's have them.

It should be ok without it.. its manifold air temp sensor some ones have it in the in air intake..
does the car idel ok??

Just blank it off with a plate.

Shouldnt effect the idle, I can unplug mine out and it and it doesnt change. Would have thought it was just a helper sensor to effect the fuel + ignition once runing.

Thanks for the replies I did not start her up until I got some information about it, If you ever down my way ill by you a beer bud! + eamon get down south ahah
:thanks:

It is pretty important. It's the sensor for the flux capacitor and without you may over inject plutonium or possibly cause a coolant river down the road.

Glad you got it sorted :)

:blabla: Tool!

**** sake, just checking over noticed theres a crack in the manifold on the side bolt, must of happened as i tightened up on the bolts, is it a write off?

Not much light but you get the idea, also I turned ignition on, fuel pissing out the injectors, do they have to be sat into the fuel rail in a certain way , i tried to push the injectors into the rail before but they wouldnt go in?

Shut that's a very crucial part because that's where coolant flows through. You'll need to take it off. Fittingly you can weld it.

Thats a pain in my ass! You think it could be welded with dissimilar rods?

i had the exact same thing happen to me mate on my old B16, i took mine to a workshop and the welded it, worked perfect when it was on the car :)

Well its a relief that it can be repaired do you think its safe at all to run how it is, I have just fired her up and there are no leaks coming from the crack, A mate at work can weld it up for me, its just getting there! 60 miles..

cheers
