Here's one I found the other day on the internet. Not very common on coupes:)

i quite like the idea as its not common. ill probably get a custom one made from stainless somewhere up here. and it will be matched with a hks manifold and de-catted :D

was going to try this myself.. if you get it done post some pics up so i can see if i like it :D

If you are going to go for the angled exhaust, then do it the proper way and get a straight-through exhaust (i.e goes directly underneath the fuel tank, rather than over the lca). This is the reason why it comes out at an angle, as the system was designed with the least number of bends to improve flow.

If you go for the "angled look" exhaust, it just looks, well, stupid..... (IMO)

So Mfactory your basically saying that if it goes over the lca the flow isnt as good?
and why do you think the 'angled look' looks stupid?
I take it you like the spoon n1 and mugen twinloop? which most people tend to have on EK civic's.
I like to be different myself.
but of course its up to the owner :)

I actually prefer the look of the straight-through exhausts (1st Gen APEX'i Exhausts) :)

What I meant when I said I didn't like the look was the conventional routed exhausts (i.e bent over the lca) which are then bent even further to provide this "angled look". Just doesn't look right, IMO.

Function over Form :)

Oh i see what you mean
Does this actually produce a better flow then?
i may look into getting an exhaust like this if thats the case
or maybe a side exit :s

true N1 exhausts have no resonators, nor flanges and some don't even have a backbox/muffler.

They also require the removal of the gas tank and a fuel cell is installed.

Whoever came up with the idea to have angled exhausts on a street car AND maintain ground clearance without the pipe running under the gas tank is a GENIUS.

The end consumer gets an exhaust with more bends, more weight, and potentially less power and poor fitment. In an effort to negate the loss of power, piping diameter increases but with that increase in diameter, there is also a chance of interference with the rear sway-bar.

At the end of the day, it's your car and if it's a look that you like, don't worry so much about what others say - you can't make everybody happy.

Aesthetics are all about personal preference - as an example, I absolutely DESPISE mudflaps on any sport compact car. IMO, it has NO place on a sporty runabout.

totally agree with you on that mate :nice:

i see what your saying but that would be soooo loud and for a daily driver too!
but great power gains compared to the ones with resonators and backboxes.
like you say personal choice :)

its ok for you as you dont stay in britain. if i went over a pothole in this country the exhaust would be left in the pothole. you have no idea hot notorious the roads are over here. id take it over the arms just so i dont leave £3-400+ lying on the road mlol
