Hi,

sorry i'm out of topic from ek9 forum. I just wanna know , how is good JDM B18C GSR DC2 ? OR is it under power motor ? What should I do to modd this in economy way ??? Please reply ASAP & Thanks in advance:nerv:

GSR motor is an excellent motor, while not as potent as the b18c type r it is still excellent :nice: as far as mods go, you can start with a good intake, header and exhuast system, then a good intake manifold and throttlebody, after that your ready for some cams and engine management.

here is my choice of parts and the average price you will find them for:

step 1
aem/fujita/injen intake $200
edelbrock/greddy/DC header $300-400
any 60-65mm exhuast you like $400

step 2
BBK intake manifold $290
AEBS 68mm throttle body $150

step 3
skunk2 stage II cams
skunk2 valve springs and retainers
your choice of engine management.

this order of upgrades has been proven many times on a gsr motor. usually i dont recomend intake manifold and throttle body so early but the GSR engine really benefits A LOT from those 2 mods.

with step 3 if you have the money you can even add some integra type r pistons that should bump your comression to 11.3:1

B16B CTR yes, B18C ITR it might be a close fight, but i think the B18C ITR stock motor has an advantage :nice:

no way! hell murder a b18c-r with those mods, hell have around 190+whp b18cr only manages around 170whp in stock trim.

a stock b16b only has a mild advantage over a stock b18c gsr.

Are you sure??? I would definitely like to see this!! That's a big question mark(??????)
185 hp and 118 lb-ft (Type R - 1.6 L) vs 180 hp and 128 lb-ft (SiR - 1.8 L). If anyone has a video or something, please post cuz I have no clue on this :angry2:

So, what the answers is ???:angry2: coz a friend of mine love to see what B18C GSR next ???You got e-mail dude..please check.

gsr has more tq but slightly longer gears, b16b has a lil more hp an shorter gears, it ends up being even almost, ive raced friends that had gsr engines in similar weight honda's its pretty even in the end. but gsr has more linear powerband where the b16b comes to life like a monster at 6000+rpm at the higher rpms b16b has the advantage, at lower revs gsr has the advantage, there just different.

thanks mr blinx9900 for the good info..what about I just swap with b16a gearbox??I wanna get closer ratio and more pick up during sprint test 400metres. Do you have any comment on this part ??

the gsr trans is geared for the gsr powerband, i would keep the factory gsr box unless you plan to do all the mods i mentioned earlier, then you will have more top end power so a b16a box may be better since it keeps you in the top rpm range more. gsr box is good for street b16 box is perfect for drag race or short road course.

I have a b16 tranny mated to a b18C1 (usdm gsr) with a single stage intake manifold plus intake, exhaust ect. and its just as you would expect with shorter gears, highway cruising is at a high rpm but the short gears make for good accelleration, on a bone stock gsr the stock transmission is fine.

skyR, r u planning to put b18c gsr?
how much it (dc halfcut) will cost u in Terengganu?

Yup I wanna swap JDM B18C GSR into my ride & JUST got it & I'll work out with KL WORKSHOP.. For the cost , totally I've to spend about 8K including 99 dashboard ...

which workshop in KL?
8K? nice buy!!

how about wiring?
can b18c gsr wiring fit nicely into EK?
any problem?

sORRY NONAME212, I can't figure it out & tell you which w/shop that I'll be work it out. Wiring hardness???Sorry bro, I'm too lack of knowlegde regarding JDM B18C GSR wiring hardness. Do it fairy fit with 99 dashboard OR others mechansm ( Drive shaft and so on ) ???Or Does some modds is needed ??? Let Blinx or other people answer this question...:nerv:

HI SkyR,

Mounting wise, some modification needs to be done coz its from a different chassis. A wrong set of mounting will give u some problem with the drive shaft. And wiring harness, it shouldn't be a big problem as long as the mechanic knows what he's doing. Cheers.

thanx for your kind attention..regarding the mounting , So how to set it up in the best way ?? of course I'm too scared if the mechanics wrongly setup the mounting...Hopefully , all of friends out there could help me out & solves the issue especially for those who are specialist on mounting setup with different casis..
