i done a 14.45 1/4 mile at crail just there in what was Dunsys ek9 giving out 212bhp.

do use think thats that good a time for the power?

beat my mates jdm dc2 all day long though he is on 17" wheels at the moment though i thought some ek9's have that time anyway where as mines is stroked to 1.8 but the manifold is severly dented in on the bottom 2 tubes and am worried its holding me back though if it made that power with the manifold like this maybe theres more power to be had?

What was your 60ft time mate?

With 2.3 60ft's at Santa pod with bad tires on really humid day the other week i was getting 14.1. A 13.9 was possible on the day if i had a few more goes as when i pulled off well i changed gear poor and vise versus. only had a few runs.

But ive achieved 13.7 before on a 2.2 60ft. last year at Shakespeare.

Oh and im apparently running 196BHP according to a dyno dynamics. So i would say so far 14.4 isnt really that good but cant judge until you give us a 60ft time.

Last time I tried I did a 14.0 with 2.1 60ft. But mine only had a mugen exhaust and a filter and I ran on street tires. Like EK9dan said we need to know your 60ft because that makes a huge difference. Would expect a lot faster than that from an 1.8. Mine is on ITB's now and I'm in the process of stroking it to a 1.8 at the moment and I'm hoping to drop into the 12's on race fuel! Maybe the conditions were bad and you have crap tires.

Times in Malta seem to be far better then we get over these ways. Like a stock 1.6 like im assuming you have would not get 14.0. Not a chance.

Not sure the reason behind it but there are so many factors to pin point. I only compare times within the same country. Same goes in the Caribbean. They all get far better times.

Done not bad was in my mates blue s14 drifting saw you humping the ep3. just had mine out of paint cant wate to get it up thare ek4 b16+lots of engine mods cant send pics yet. Nice 1 dude

yeah man the ep3 is my mates i couldnt beat it to start with until i learned the best way to pull off the line then i beat him quite alot though he had a slightly better top speed. He has a 4-2-1 mani decat and invidia cat back and aem induction kit, some people last time thought it was tuned more than that

my 60ft times ranged from 2.2 to 2.3 , my best time being on a 2.26 if that helps . . . .

i did expect a better time if running 212bhp and when it got later in the day when i kept beating the ep3 i felt i couldnt do any better the starts had like no wheel spin or so it felt

thing is car feels amazing as it is so if a new mani did help then i cant wait for it.

i could try get some pics of the dents up sometime i would say on one tube it more than halfs the inside bore of it as it dents in quite far like a V shape inwards and the other is just mildly dented but still a dent no the less

an old H reg crx with a b16b and full system i was told it had it was doing about same times as me . . . how light are they?

does anybody know how many metres are in a quater mile im trying to do quater mile`s with killometer clocks if ya know what i mean

also ek9dan, what was your mph across the line? for my best time i had 96.8 mph but clocks read about 165-170kph but hard too judge it right using the clocks

The other day was only pulling 97-98mph but as said very humid day, all cars were suffering that day. My best at other strip was 13.7 @101mph. Averaging 100mph most runs. For your power the times seem a tad low buddy.

Crx uk model weigh about the same as ek9. My ek9 has slight better acceleration then mates B18cr ek9 with s80 box and same spec as mine. I'm using ek9 box. He's got interior, mines stripped.

I would like to point out, take all quoted dyno figures with a pinch of salt, everyone gets different readings. They are often inacurate. Unless both cars were dynod on same day same dyno it's not really relevent.

thats not bad times at all . although the next time you will likely be quicker as you get used to the car more . last year in my standard b16b with simple bolt on mods . exhaust , intake etc and spoon ecu i was running 14.44's

Very low 14's are possible from B16's with relative ease.

More practice and the times will come down.

dont know where i can improve though, can i get my 60ft time any lower? i done like 15 runs atleast as the track was total dead and felt my starts wre good . iv been there lots before in my old jordan so i should know what im doing right or wrong. but buddy if your getting 14.4 from the b16b shouldnt i expect more with it being stroked?

Not sure you can really compare Crail times to anywhere else like Santa or Shakespear as its a 'unique' surface and environment - those who have been know exactly what I mean lol

Does it have an LSD?
There are alot of variables to take into consideration, not just power and torque.

Biggest one being Crails surface is wank.

that's a gd time for crail seeing how crap the strip is. I got a 14.47 in my mates standard dc2 teg at crail

If your 60ft time was 2.2 then the surface is obviously not bringing you down a great deal over the likes of Santa pod/Shakespeare as i just said i was only getting 2.2-2.3's at pod the other week. On the tires i was using(T1R's) i really dont think i could have brought it down from 2.2. The surface will only have an effect on times off the line really unless you were driving over cobble stones lol.

Either your gear changes aren't up to scratch/major head winds/ REALLY humid weather or your car is not making 212BHP and that huge torque figure the engine made. Like over 150lbs if i remember correctly. I only made 126lbs torque. That should show majorly on on straight line performance yet your getting lower terminals and times but with the same 60ft. Like said, take all figures with a pinch of salt.

thats sort of where i thought mayd the manifold is restricting the top end if my 60ft time is ok. mayb try another day . yeah 154lbs is what the graph says, my jordan was 124lbs and it feels alot torqueir but the the ek9 is a 1.8 i supose . got a 15.0 with the jordan at 177bhp

crail is not flat either, it's on a hill. Most ek9's i have seen on it were getting low 15's
