hi everyone,just brought an ek9 but is very loud,,has a buddy club cat back exhaust which is supposed to be v good.i think it should be quicker and is thinking put a smaller custom exhaust on for more back pressure?! what do u think? cheers dan

2.5" diameter is fine on the b16b. Stock is 2.25" iirc. If you think it's slow get it dyno'd and see what's going on.
If it's your first vtec then you really do need to keep them revving to keep them going, esp b16b.

Changing the exhaust isn't going to make a noticeable difference in the power.. Buddyclub is one of the loudest systems about tho.. What other mods does the car have? Has it been remapped badly mayb?

thanks for the advice am gonna keep the exhaust but get a silencer put in

Welcome mate. I agree with the dyno, were you can see the engine and torque curve and do a diagnose of the problems. My personal opinion is... put a stock exaust and air intake if possible... make sure the ECU was not modified, try to understand how much RPM VTEC kicks in (stock of b16b is around 6k). Were the internal components of the engine modified?
