LS VTEC Turbo Vs B16A2 Turbo?

I'm sorry man, please don't be upset when i tell you this, but that statement means you are not ready to turbocharge your car and it would be best left NA.

That comment made me laugh so cus he wants to reach 300 the cheapest he ain't ready to turbo! Nice one online pshyciatrist.LOL.

so 2-3000 CAD just for the turbo setup wont be enough?

all the other stuff i already them.i am just asking about turboing.

thanks
Just for turbo then yes it is possible. As far as Fuel and EMS also and the turbo setup for that price you may have to cut some corners, maybe by a somethings second hand etc...

Turbo Honda's are not for the faint of heart, i don't want anybody to jump into anything that will get them so stressed out they want to burn there car down lol.

LOL fair dos we all at some stage want to burn our cars out when modifying even on the most simplest of things. Well I know I have in the past!

This is exactly what i want to do to my VTI-S. I want to achieve 500bhp. Ive seen it done on youtube and on Forza 2 i have a blown crx running at 503bhp and a civic coupe running a bit higher. i would love to turbo my civic as it could possibly be the fastest vti-s ever. :drive:

is it a lot of stress?to maintain?or will i check up on it more often than a N/A setup?

definately save up a load of cash and get the best you possibly can. true stroy i have two friend both with turbo civics, one a b18 the other an esi, both eg shape i'll add.
my mate with the b18 spared no expense and built a very nice 386whp civic. actually made 418 on the dyno but backed the tuning for engine safety
my other mate done a budget build on his esi using a rising rate fuel reg [correct me if i have that wrong] done the budget build cheaper than people advised and yes he melted pistons galore all for what and extra 50hp than standard.
point is turboing your car is a massive step, if you want to do it go into it and dont stop. however have a good think about if its what you really want

Very VERY sound advice! Do it properly and it will last, cut corners/cost and it wont.

CHEAP / FAST / RELIABLE - pick two.:drive:

Because i'm crazy lol, j/k, honestly at the time i had no job and i had blown up my b16b engine, i had to get the car running with minimal cost but it still be somewhat reliable and fast which is normally not possible (cheap reliable and fast.). A good friend of mine gave me his blown b16a block for free, i ran the b18a/b pistons to lower the compression to what i wanted since the block needed new pistons anyway, my b16b head was still in great shape so all the parts went together and that was it :nice:

But there was a method to the madness, and i did have more technical reasons. The b16b head is better for a few reasons: The larger cams it has, the dual valve springs and minor port job. I chose the b16a block because I wanted to keep the 77.4mm stroke to keep piston side loading at high rpm to a minimum and have lower piston speeds since i was not using forged pistons and i have stock sleeves.

So yeah, it all came together for a few reasons, i had a theory, i had a budget and i was able to build what i wanted the best i could at the time.

Yes, just run a thicker headgasket to be safe and ARP head studs + good tuning and support mods.

As far as beating skylines it depends on which skyline and what mods it has, i'm sure you realize that.

I have a Kit similar to the one describe in this thread, and I need this two items a thicker headgasket and the ARP head studs, where can I find those?? my engine is a B16A2

.060" should be perfect :nice:

I found the ARP STUDS @ summitracing, this is the part number ARP 208-4601

of course, people are suggesting also to change the camshafts for the type R ones, but Im not sure where to look for them

Skunk2 Tuner 1 are great for boost, especially for those wanting over 300whp, but if your goal is 300whp or below, stock b16 cams are fine.

I have been running a trust turbo setup on my b18 block with a b16a2 head on stock cams I am making 262whp and have had no problems I just run valvoline vr1 20w50 and 93+ octane
