Mapped cars - VTEC engagement rpm?

got spoon ecu, so vtec between 5200-5500 revs and going till 9100rpm!

Much smoother crossover. For kids it might better with the oem ecu :p
But you really feel the point where the Nm and HP raise after vtec.

old B16B with bolt on's mapped on crome, vtec was set at 5500rpm and limiter at 9100rpm

current high compression B18C running endyn cams, vtec is set at 6500rpm and limiter at 9600rpm

power curve is very linear on both engines, very very smooth crossover to vtec :nice:

Crossover set at 6600 and revs to 9100rpm, B18 built and mapped by Perry Huber (Race Dna) has his own cams in and lots of head work. makes 240hp and 160 lb/ft. Changeover is smooth but still very obvious, i do get a sweet spot at 5k and the car makes plenty of power on low cam, so economy is 38mpg on a run, and engine is built for endurance, you don't have to rev the nackers out of it.

You want an Engine that rocks you need to give Pez a call

Yeah thats if you can get hold of him, i havent seen the guy since the MGT racing days.

Very good mate of mine, he is a top dude. In fact i'm due to visit him next week or so. Would'nt have anyone else touch my car. Pitty he ain't got a double. I think he's about 180 considering what he knows.

car was re-tuned now vtec is @ 4500rpm smoother than old tune when vtec piont was 5200rpm.
different tuners different preferations.
