Mattyssb's black caged ITB'd K24 EK9

great build, this will be a weapon once complete. A friend of mine has a k24 with bolt ons and a good tune and not much can touch it, brilliant platform to work with, F/I power from a N/A

Thanks mate, yeah a few people i know with k24 and mild bolts on etc have made awesome power!
Was the obvious choice over k20 when they cost the same

k20s are good but that extra low down of the k24 is what makes it.

BTW where did you get that carbon scuttle pannel from, never seen one before

Yeah exactly! Win win really.

Um it was actully just a random guy on the fb selling page "honda parts for sale" he makes them from scratch
If you're on facebook his name is daz leese

Recived some bolts from BoltsBolts, couldn't find my original engine and gearbox and mount bolts so had to be done haha!

Time to put the engine in, sorted all the engine bay brake lines and all that stuff that would be harder to access once engine was in the week nights.

Plumbed the engine bay fire extinguisher line and nozzle in an made up a little braket for it to point at the fuel rail.

Whole lot of wiring to now sort out. Oh joy! Haha

Picked up the front slam panel from the bodyshop yesterday too, was painted seperate as didnt need it as soon as the shell.
Finally time to fit the vin plate back on :)

Random shot with the front still off

Since the front was back i decided to tackle fitting the full lenght rad.
Which with the traction bar rad mount makes it sit really nice and give plenty of room to not have to move the neck on the rad

Almost makes a v mount with the oil cooler, shame its not bigger haha

Quite close to the alternator, not enough to cause a problem i believe.

Finished up by doing the VC's on the motor, its finally nice to see some real progress! Haha :)

Amazing work
Need to enquirer about one of those scuttle panels , looks good quality
How would you rate the quality having seen it in person ?

Thank you dude :)

The quality is really good actually, it would benefit from a flat and polish to remove some minor marks but nothing serious, really good piece!

After accessing the fitment of the radiator, had to think of a way to close up the huge gaps either side and at the bottom of it.
Obviously this would cause the air to escape passed the rad, making the cooling system not as efficient as it could be.
After having a think and realising i had a huge sheet of ali left over, decided id have a go at making a duct for it to help force the air through better.

Hopefully mount it to the front panel so when the front is removed i dont have to unbolt this into 3 pieces.
Hopefully when i get the bumper sorted i can get an idea of extending it to to force the air through the beat way possible

What do you guys think?

Looks great.. Good to see someone that understands how air flow and radiators work

Thanks dude, been doing a fair bit of research lately.
i would duct it up out of the bonnet but the engine is in the way too much haha. Got a vented bonnet so that sould do the job :)

Good little design with the rad there. All the custom work on this is excellent. Do you do the welding yourself.
