Mpg?

good gosh, I figured a 1.4 would get killer fuel mileage. I had a D16Z6 EJ1 coupe before this car and it got about 35-40MPG and would pull off 350 miles a tank on a regular basis.

sweet, just filled up my car and got 30MPG on the last tank. Had 263.5 miles on the trip odo but I wasn't even close to empty. I only put 8.75 gallons in (gauge reads about 9.5 gallons or so and the tank is actually 11.9 gallons).

we rate our crap different than the rest of the world but our 93 octane is about the same as y'alls 99 (cause US V-Power in Tennessee and other places is 93 and other parts of the country, 91). Pretty much anything higher is considered race gas and is meant for incredibly high compression engines (such as turbo'd Supras running massive boost).

Still it kinda sucks to have to put the high test in this piece of crap car of mine (oh does it look like hell). Oh well, that's all the B16 takes or she grenades on me. It's with fuel prices like this that I really REALLY miss my EJ1. Got 35-40MPG on the cheap stuff.

you can run 87 on your b16a, it will just run like crap! my acura CL has higher compression than your b16a, my CL is 10.5:1 and i use 91 (highest in CA) if i put 87 the car still runs but the ecu pulls timing and the car runs like CRAP especially at WOT. i too miss my singlecam, i was getting 30mpg even if i drove like a maniac :D

Yeah but it's an EXTREMELY bad idea to run lower than 91/93 cause lower octane fuels are less resistant pressure ignition which means the fuel could ignite before the spark and cause damage to the engine.

I still do miss my single slammer. I kinda wish I had a VX daily to save some cash on gas to school and work.

You live in the USA and are moaning about fuel prices its about $10 per gallon in the UK (I could be wrong)

yeah the price of fuel in the uk is completely shocking !! Its apparently the 4th or 5th highest in the world..... and its all bloody tax !!:angry2::angry2::mad::mad:

when I make as little money as I do, I can kinda complain. I bet ya'll probably have higher pay and can afford to spend more on gas. $3.79 a gallon when I make $6 an hour working 24 hours a week kinda sucks. I have to drive to college and work. It takes a third of my pay check to fill up my tank.

Also, I have to pay $75 monthly insurance and repairs on the EJ6 since it's a pile. As it sits, it needs about $300-400 of work done or more.

Wellll, I feel I can wholeheartedly disagree with that comment. My part time job which I used to pay for me driving to work, delivery driving and driving to uni on a daily basis paid me £6 flat rate and I consider that to be a STANDARD pay for part time work like that, just over minimum wage, and I don't think many will disagree with that.

If I could get my gallon of fuel for £3.79 a gallon I would be driving a v12 at WOT round in circles just for fun. ATM we're creeping up to £7 a gallon. I don't think it's even on the same scale of expense over here, it's well and truly another level.

Believe me, as anyone will say over here, you have it CHEAP

Edit: Just to add, take a look at the insurance forum and almost any topic in there. Thats what you call a bumf******g. We pay through our arses for absolutely everything. I can see everything getting a lot more expensive in the short future aswell, as this petrol goes up, transport and logistics for EVERYTHING obviously go up too, so we pick up the bill..bannana's, cheese, our car parts, you name it

full (40 - 45l) tank usually gets me at least 250miles to around 280. long motorway journeys it will get over 300miles on 1 tank. em1 b16a2

in my old EK3 - 280 - 300 miles per tank
in my EK4 - the best ive got so far is 250! i really need to do an economy run after my service sometime!!!

I can get from Forres to just outside of Hull on one tank (roughly 430 miles) but that is me sitting at a constant 55-60ish mph

Otherwise about 150-180 miles per tank normal driving :))

currently getting about 220 miles to £45ish, that's no bad considering i tent to hit vtec a few times a day :D

Some of the mpg figures in this thread are making me feel rather ill :nono:

I've been use to 370-400 miles per tank on town/extra-urban driving in my EG vei these last 8months or so...

My last ek9 would guzzle through a tank in under 200 though :(

370 miles a tank? pipe down b16a2 you looking at 250-300 max lol

Well it is capable of well over 400, but you really have to drive well to get that.

Very boring though.. great daily car :)

Honda had it right 15 years ago!... 50mpg+ from a petrol 1.5 hatch!...

none of this electric rubbish, that costs more in carbon footprint to mine the material for the batteries than you will ever save by driving a 'green' car.
