my ej9 track car build. new ek9 time atack build

so tried a few times to post my pictures of this build and wasnt very succesful so hope this works !
bought this car back in the summer , just a bog standard 99 ej9. car was sound other than two terrible arches ! rust hadnt spread anywhere so this would be easy sorted!
plans are to completly strip the car , paint the underside , inside and outside , b18c conversion , 5 stud conversion , fully braided lines , internal fuel tank , 5 point cusco cage , will be loads more through the build but just going for a through and through track car build. progress will be slow as im only 16 and still in school so can only work part time..

so the car as i got it !

as you can se the arch's arent in great shape il get them sorted soon tho !

started to strip the car out straight away when i got it home ! was good craic lol

lifted the 1.4 out!

subframe out and primed ..

painted in red , regret painting it red now but itl never be seen !

got my engine bay rubd down and ready for paint !

engine bay painted and painted the underside of my bonnet, subframe ready to be lifted into place

after a long time searching for good quarters i finaly found a full car in galway , very clean quarters! will also get a bit of tin for welding up my sunroof from this!

quick snap of how the bays looking now ! and my dog ben lol

got my car back from getting the quarters welded on it ! very pleased with the outcome , car is now mint!

finaly found a good non smokey standard b18c engine out of a 98 spec teg!

removed the rear suspension , fuel lines and fuel tank.

also rubed down the inside and got ready for paint.

new rear suspensions lol

powerwashed down the underside geting ready for paint!

car as it sits now .

got the inside painted along with the bottem of the dash , doors are wrong shade but il live with them for now

bought myself this second hand genuine cusco bolt in cage, needs painted but is in good shape !

primed..

and painted.

also painted up my rocker ! will paint the block later .

set my cage into place , didnt bolt in in just yet .

all advise welcome ! first build so im still learning! will try my best to keep this as updated as possible ! cheers !

well to start with il be keeping it standard to get the car finishd ! il see about geting it tuned a bit after i get everything else done! thinking more on geting a good high spec gearbox!

wee update .. filled out the car over the weekend and finishd rubbing it smooth this evenin , plastic primed the mirrors and door handles and all to , wasnt to happy with the finish on the inside of car either so rubbed it down and painted it again earlyer !

pushd outside to blow any dust of it..

inside repainted

filled out the holes for the plate bracket.

skirts plastic primed

hopefully prime the outside tomorow if all goes to plan !

now doing a weld in cage if i get enough interest in my own , its a genuine 6 point cusco ! looking 450 euro for it .. also want to go b16b along with the weld in cage so i have my b18c type r up for sale aswell ! very good engine non smokey ! looking 750 euro for it .

Great build!! Seen pics of this on McCrabbes bakebook! Class colour for the engine bay!! Are you going to use this yok for competition? is that the reason for weld-in cage and B16b?

cheers man ! aye he painted the bay for me ! think yellow and grey will be nice ! aye thats the plan ! im just 5 minutes for mcCrabbes place , no the dual carrige way outside letterkenny? i live just of that !

so have a wee update not to much ! primed the hole outside of the car and painted the two rear quarters , came out CRAP cus were painted in terrible light so il be doin them again!
have my engine all nice and shiney now to but clean forgot to get pics , il throw a few up tomorow if i get a chance !
