As you may know, my ek9 is not a daily drive car, and I'll soon install skunk2 pro 1 camshafts.

Last time I went to the dyno, the car made 170 whp with the following mods:

1. DC2 Mugen Intake.
2. Hytech Replica Header
3. No cat, custom light weight 2.5" exhaust with oem ek9 muffler.

The oem muffler weights about 15 - 20 pounds so I wanted something lighter and a "free flow" type muffler, like the apexi n1.

Since I don't use my car as a daily drive, I don't care about the sound hehe, so I decided to get a apexi n1 replica muffler, paid like 40$ for it lol! :wow:

Free flow FTW.

I'm happy with the exhaust, it is loud when vtec comes in, but if I shift before 4000 RPM it sounds very nice :D

Now I need a Hondata re-tune, my 170 whp map is useless now..... Hope to tune with the skunk2 pro 1 cams installed soon! hehe.

If you guys want I can add a on board video some time in the near future :D

They have no "brand" haha, but all of them are made in china :p

haha.. i'll jaz call it "china muffler" lol, but the point is it serves its purpose.. making loud noise..haha

I did a muffler today as well, swapped out my Mugen TL for....a custom TL with a true 2.5" in and out. What a difference in the top end..gone are the 7500rpm constipation and hello to 9000rpm free flow.
It was more quiet than the Mugen too!

Who needs brands when you can get better at a fraction of the price?!

I agree with you, it all depends on the budget you have, I prefer to spend 300+$ on the motor rather than a muffler.

My whole 2.5 " custom exhaust system including muffler cost me around 120$ :nice:

Looks nice RVM :)

Brand whores and some people who think cheaper brands can't be any good :D Nice to read, I have a OBX TL waiting in the garage, sounds like it's way better too since it's 2,5" all the way :)
