Is it me or this car sounds like driving a Honda CRV ?

:yuno:

Anyways the car is fast!

Love it personally, Streamed the Geneva unveiling last night. And I find the 'pffttt, it's no where near the concept looks wise' comments annoying, To be honest I think it's a ballsy manoeuvre from Honda with the styling as it is pretty radical and I feel retains a more than less of the concept features personally. 310PS! Also love how the 'Ring lap version has no CD player and a rollcage haha. Go HONDA!

£29995 for base model, or £32500 for the GT pack.

Serious pricing! I really liked the concept, I still like it, not sure if id be happy with paying £32.5k....il maybe see what the PCP/ PCH deals are.

A lot of money for the average boy racer... I can't help but think there are so many better things you could do with that sort of money... Like buy five ek9s!

Fast car. But I'm concerned it's going become another vxr,Cupra,Golf insert generic turbo hot hatch here......
Only recent hot hatch I think is remotely special is the megane trophy 275.
Watch the video at the ring, you wouldnt know it was a honda. 7k redline is disappointing and not sure what happened to vtec? Obviously suited more to midrange grunt than top end power. Unfortunately.
Don't like the noise on the video, hard to make it sound any different from the rest with it being so similar an engine.
Do beleive the cars got a faster lap in it though so come closer to release date expect a full production car run to be released with it going under 7:45....

I really like it. Love how it looks, bar the need for rear spacers haha.

I hope that they sorted out the seating position when coming from the FN2, the seating position in them is crap!

People keep complaining about the lack of rev's (7k isn't really a lack IMO) but there's no point having it rev any higher unless midrange is rubbish. I think that one of the limiting factors of the old Type R's is that they were for a market that was too small. At the end of the day, Honda want to sell cars, this new setup will make it far more appealing to your "average" person.

Seem's to me like Honda are moving with the times, and some people don't seem particularly happy with that.

I like it, think it looks a lot like the concept when you consider half the concepts that are revealed look nothing like production models.

Think it looks good, seems to go well and will probably be made to sound even better with a few choice mods.

Cant wait to see one in person either.

Yeah it just fits in with the rest of the hot hatch class though. Nothing exactly ground breaking from them atm.
It's going to be a good car, just not like I expected.
I was expecting basically a k20 with a neat little turbo on it, revving about 8k.

Boooooooooring, big and expensive. Just buy a second hand FQ400 evo and go soil yourself.

But surely if they produced a k20 with a turbo everyone would just be saying the same thing, all be done before etc. Why build a car that we are all building already? If that makes sense.

Looks good enough in my opinion. Shame there isn't a 3-door option. The "R" mode adds weight to the steering, sharpens the throttle and firms up the suspension via the adaptive dampers. At first I thought it was a bit pointless, but come to think about, having a choice between a comfortable setting and a firmer "sport" mode should be handy, especially on UK roads.

Does the rear torsion beam let this car down? I'm not a suspension expert so I'll let someone else answer this question. At least it comes with a proper mechanical diff and Brembo brakes. Dual Axis front suspension is another interesting feature. Interior is decent:

Any weight figures for this?

Yeah, my answer to that is we are building them because that's what we want.....
Honda want to sell cars....

Seems manufacturers have engineered these torsion beams to actually work on acceptably on track, iirc the seat and the megane have the same rest sus type.
I find te front suspension interesting aswell, is it much like the vauxhall "hyper strut" and fords system?

Good answer haha. But k20 turbo isnt exactly ground breaking either. Whatever they built was never going to please everyone though.... just glad they made one. As @Saqib says, shame they dont do 3 door versions any more

Nah not ground breaking in the modified market, would be quite unique as a production engine though.
They had little choice really did they? Got to keep up, if you can't beat them join them...

That's the only way to survive in business
