Hey guys reading the paper this morning anyone seen or know about the new Focus RS, love cosworth engines!

no...didnt think they would bother not that the ST seems to be about.

yeah they are bringing out a RS is meant to be 4wd with the same volvo 2.5T engine, but will utilise the 300bhp lump out of the S60R with volvos 4WD system, so it wont have a cosworth engine in. Well so ive been told.

Ford wont never make a proper cosworth car again like the RS500 and escort cossy. They are just gorgeous cars.

Ah ive just read its going to be 280bhp with a semi active limited slip differential, matched to a 6 speed manual box, prices around £20-24k! Thats not bad if you look at how well the old Focus and Escort RS's have retained there value!

ye, i've heard a bit about that car.. to be fair the new st 225 handles well for a big car, so the 4wd version 'should' be impressive.

I dont think its goin to be fully 4WD tho is it? I think the drive system works in conjunction with the traction control i.e splitting power 60% x 40% when loss of traction happens? well i think thats the way it was described as i read it! Anyone clarify?

i heard its going to be 4wd with a twin turbocharged version of the 2.5 straight 5 engine thats used in the current ST

dont know about the 4wd system though, it probably hasnt been announced yet..?

The new RS is amazing! Would love to have one but there almost £30000  Never liked the Focus ST's, nice to drive but prefered the look and feel of the old Focus RS mk1

Saw a couple of RS's on track and at a show, I wasn't all that impressed to be honest. Either the two professional drivers weren't giving them stick or they were poo.

no such thing as a new performance hot hatch anymore

there all fat, heavy and as safe as humanly possible

the 90's produced the best hot hatches
