New to the site - EK4 enthusiast :)

Imported ??? really.... when was it imported.

The VTi is a UK car...

you should definately be cherishing this badboy.. take ur air box apart and rip out the pollen filter and resonators in their and you'll have a bit more noise for the price of half an hour work !!!!!!! :) also get that front bumper off and take out the resonator in the front left side and then add a cold air feed to it and you should have a lil bit more noise !!! :) can always pout it back in if you don't like it. !!

14 years is probably worth changing it anyway... 36,000 miles isn't a lot at all but 14 years is... didn't think it was £300 to change a timing belt though... sure knowone on here will do it cheaper ???

Yeah it will be a uk car, but i think the shell or parts come over from Jap and they come with Yellow Japanese tags, which it still has in the documents, which is quite cool... just totally comprehensive paperwork situation hahaha!

£300 sounds about right if using honda parts.

I paid £79.99 for the water pump and £59.99 for the belt and tensioner, then about £10 postage from simauto

Think i would need to have Honda do it, to keep with its past care. And i dont mind spending proper money if i get proper nice work done.

yeah i see where your comin from but if it was perished at all it would snap ...personally i wouldn pay honda to do it cause your just payin honda tax ha.. can still keep the reciept of a normal garage doin it ??but if you have the money i suppose why not... also not many honda garages will advise you not to get it done because what company is going to turn away business these days... will you color code the car or do you plan to leave it the way it is to keep it original ??:D

Hi mate n welcome amazing 35,000 miles good buy bud :)

Looks exactly the same as mine!! Bought mine with 38k from an old guy that kept it in the garage most the time! I love these rare finds

Welcome to the forums man, such a clean EK4 mate; 34k on a pre-facelift 4, thats nuts ! :D

This forum is legendary! One of my mates dad's says he could fit a new timing belt, as long as i get him a DVD which documents how to do it. He is a Ford Escort RS2000 enthusiast and has overhauled some amazing RS's so know he could do the job.

Think im going to get a belt from SimAuto as someone mentioned earlier, thanks for the advice. Day 2 of ownership and i am still feeling proper buzzed up, thank god for the Japanese and their excellent style and minds. hehe

Peace out for tonight crew.

i would advise doing your timing belt and tensioner as it is 14 years old. would also consider doing the water pump since your going to be doing work in that area anyway.

yes as advised definitly do the tensioner and waterpump at same time ;)

nice to have a new user using the site hard and frequently allready... and listening and taking advice.

Refreshing to see IMO.
