I know it's not a EK9 or even a Honda...but someone might like a change.

Im selling my 1997 Nissan Pulsar VZR, I imported this car in January to use while my car wen't through a big makeover, and as Im now nearing completing my car build I need to sell this as I can't keep 2 cars.

These are very rare in the UK...they use the SR16VE engine with Nissans NEOVVL it produces 175bhp and revs to 8200rpm with a close ratio LSD box to match.

The car has done 82,000 KMS and has Tax until August and Mot until March 2010, Since I've had it I've changed the oil, filter and plugs. The car is completely standard and has all the lips, skirts and spats that are very rare.

Here's some pics

Looking for £2800 but will listen to sensible offers if anyone is very interested.

Cheers

looks like a very nice motor, never seen one of them before either

very competent performer. The N1 edition outperformed Ek9. An VZR for this amount of money is nothing but a great deal!

i rebuilt one of these for a customer, was the n1 version, and i loved that thing, great little cars! good luck with the sale, wish i had the cash

Are tuning parts avalible for this car? Coilovers, wheels engine mods?

whats the insurance like on one of these?
could be interested i need a new project:nice:

Good deal! If I were looking for a track car... :p

Cheers all, yeh as said the parts are out there but just not on the scale of what's available for Honda's or as easy to get hold of, which adds to the unique'ness I suppose.

This car is going on Sunday though, new owner is coming up from London to get it.

Im gonna bring another over next year and build a track car...should be a good match to my Dad's EK9.

Thanks for the good response.

Wish I had a dad to compete against with sports cars :D

YouTube - Civic vs pulsar

Here is another story hehe

To be honest i think that an immediate comparison between ek9 and N1 is not fair as the N1 versions were not equally matched in terms of engine power, transmission (closer gears) and probably suspension tuning. This car was only produced for omologation reasons and not for mass production which is the key element here.

An equal match would be the spoon tuned version as you can see.

Still you can see in the above video that this is n1 version 2. They were surprised by it's performance which creates me the impression that version 1 wasn't faster than EK9.

The VZR that I had was a direct competitor for the VTi, Nissan wanted some of that market, never owned a VTi so can't compare them so lets leave it as that.

The N1 was made not as a competitor for the EK9, It was like Saxo said, homoglation purpose and just to give a nod to fellow manufacturers that they could play ball too. I wouldn't compare it to a Spoon, as that has more R&D than Apollo 13....it's a different kettle of fish...the N1 is just a VZR with bigger cams and trick head work. The only reason they have a mythical status is because their so rare...not becasue they bend the laws of physics like the Spoon. But..they still only sell for 3-400,000 Yen at Auction, cheaper than most EK9's...so can be a good buy.
