A quick video I took to demonstrate part of my ongoing idle issue. This is of the car when cold, on high idle (1500/1600).

The car is sat at idle, I am depressing the brake pedal, then letting off, when I am letting off the revs jump up to around 2000rpm before dropping back to 1500/1600.

Is this normal?

I've changed IACV, ECT sensor, thermostat, fan switch, swapped my J's ECU with standard oem, fitted HKS circle earth kit, checked for vacuum leaks, car is only throwing ELD code because my car does not have one, car has brand new map sensor, TPS sensor, all voltages checked etc on TPS sensor......nothing made any difference.

I'm running out of ideas :(

The idle issue as a whole: cold start, car idles at 1500/1600 and WILL NOT DROP, sometimes hunts up to 2000rpm if being driven, runs stupidly rich, depressing and letting off brake pedal increases revs by up to 500rpm. Once warm, if I restart the car, sometimes it splutters and doesn't start cleanly, sometimes it's perfect, but once restarted warm, idles perfect at 1100/1200rpm (J's ECU should be 1100rpm), no hunting, nothing....

(btw, video is loud as my Cusco mounts cause major cabin vibration/noise).

Still happening ayy... I think your better off leaving it to a decent mechanic or garage that knows Honda's and let them go at it, there is so many variables here,...

What you describe about pressing the brake pedal sounds to me perfectly normal but you need to eliminate every mechanical variable before moving onto electrical problems

Try and swap out your main relay with one off a mates car and see if it helps. they are £60 new from honda so worth trying a good one first before you go buying one

I replaced EVERYTHING and still had issues, went to get the car mapped and the tuner instantly diagnosed that this was at fault

Issues i had were:

-would die as soon as you started the car but fire up fine on second attempt
-dodgy idle
-sometimes would idle at 1600rpm but once you turned it off and on again would be fine
-if the car was roasting it would splutter and start quite slow

Sounds similar to yours

Cheers guys, my friend has a pre-facelift 9 so I will try his relay, even if it is that, £60 isn't bad if it sorts my issue! Will keep you all posted anyways!

Also double check all your ECU/ECM connectors, be sure they are not backing out slightly causing a weak connection with the ECU/ECM. Especially with hard motor mounts.
