onto engine number 3..........

Another great build, very informative, im sure many people will find this helpfull if they are going for the K-swap aswell :nice:

cheers!

few more photos of the progress....

new clutch and flywheel fitted, stage 2 competition clutch and their super light flywheel. weighs in at a mere 3.6kg!! the lightest oem one that honda offer is 4.6kg, i know how good the FD2 is to drive with that flywheel so this one should be good

Things are coming along well!

Will be seriously kool when its finished!

Steven how hard was it to install the new mounts? Did you use a spot weld drill bit to take the old ones off?

They are hasport ekk2 mounts, direct bolt on!

Only eg / dc2 that you need to remove the oem mount on the chassis leg :)

Great progress man !

Surely your sump is gonna be mega low with your coilovers !!?

Yeh the sump is one of the disadvantages of the swap, mine looked like a tractor compared to the VTC cars, looking at a steely, a guard and some new suspension. What rates are you running Steven?

my spring rates are 22k front and 20k rear, so that is my only saving grace for the sump!

going to buy a spare sump and get a skid plate welded on, i know it's going to take a beating so may as well beef it up a bit

thankfully the sump baffle kit is a slot in job so can transfer between sumps easy enough :)

chris what mounts do you have?
Mine is pretty low,and not had any isuues with sump with hasport ekk2 on highest setting.
not hit anything once, touch wood

however my friend chi, his sump on his k20 dc2 sits very low

awesome work steven cant wait to see it fired up

is baird tuning it btw?
will be good to see the power you make with the rrc and skunk2 header
btw where did you get the header from? i looked into it when i was shopping for a header
pm if you like

Pretty much double my rates at the moment. Had a recent visit to the Nitron factory, learned a lot, their gear is very good so will treat myself next year :nice:

EKK2 Alan, it sits low enough and my car is not low, no issues yet but its only a matter of time, best to be safe and all that.

header was bought from Hybrid racing, looks like a really nice design! proven to make more power than the R-crew too. HR are great, ordered rather alot from them, neither packages had any customs to pay and arrived VERY quickly :nerv:

i have a base map from Henry to load up onto the K-pro, will be heading down to have the final adjustments made by him on the dyno. pretty much the only guy i would trust with tuning, he really does know his stuff :)

Fair play Steven, some serious work put in! Cannot wait to see this beast finished. You should get onto someone to do some sort of video documentary on the life of this car, one work...epic!
