I know that the Spoon EK uses 235/40-17 in the front.

What modifications do I need to get that size under my fender?

wow 17s are really big i dont think spoon intended on keeping the 17s on the civic they made in one of their videos with the k20a ek and the B18c-R EK the k20 civic was pretty much slapped together as they never had enough time hence the handeling and the big wheels.

a 205 or even 215 on a push on a 15 or 16 inch rim is way more than enough you wont gain nothing going 17 and 235, doesnt make sence to me.

Why? Isn't better with wider track? I can easily run 225/45-15. And I know that it will give more grip. So way wouldn't 235 give more than that?

yea would give more grip but you will have more drag once you get going id only go that wide or big if i had a k20 or boost wudnt need anything that big or wide for anything else the torque would be alot lower if you need it just get a better tyre i.e. brand tread pattern and softness

235 profile might give you more grip, but the elongated gearing means you will be going slower round each corner and the increased unsprung weight will kill any excess.

Net result, no gain, crap ride, expensive tyres. :p

I still Belive that I will gain better laptime. :p

To the question: how do I fit those tires under my fender?:)

I'm no expert, but I would imagine lower offset and/or wheel spacers and arch rolling.

What tyres are you using?

I run federal rsr this season(205/50-15).

Next season will run a048(195/55-15). I will check how the grip are with vs rsr.

I would stick with 225/50/15 personally if you feel the need to go wider, 10mm extra is not going to be worth the effort and disadvantages of running 235/40/17s.

Well, you got a point there mate. Personally I think 225/45-15 would be the best choose.

Anyways I still want to know how get fit 235/40 :p

Yes, 235/50/15 would work, only appears to be R888 available in that size though. £190 a pop too. Ouch.

I had 17's on my Jordan with no issues. They were 205's though iirc and it isn't a pretty sight!
