its not the car its the driver ;)

Barely anything has been done - thats the point, i make 172bhp with my great little b16a2 and yous are struggling to match that with b16b's and b18c's

if an ek9 went on the same rollers same day that you used....they would be looking 190bhp+

some people get caught up in this "mines more than yours" sh#t

i put a lot of ££££££ in to get 25bhp and good powercurve:nice:

im not talking ebay manifold and diy filter!!!!

rollers are only good for mapping etc as most of the sensible members
already know :p

Mate i dont care wat you think, fact is - if i bought a 9 and it made 170 bhp i'd prob be cryin!!! no matter wat dyno it went on!

How do you know that the 9 would have created that power on the same dyno as me?

Nearly every car on the day of the rolling road got the expected power outputs, for the mods i've done its very accurate, my mates VTi only had an induction kit and it made just over stock power at 162bhp.

and as far as you saying cheap ebay parts - i hope that wasnt directed at me - my car has had a lot of money spent on it - dc-sports mani - buddyclub cat back - decat - j's racing induction kit and many more - and the list will continue very shortly - and the horsepower will rise. if i went back to the dyno after spending £££££ on my car and i made 170 out of a b16b conversion i would not be happy

Dyno's are suppose to give you an accurate bhp & whp figure - if they cannot do that then whats the point? how do you think they get the factory hp? it is a form of dynamometer and has to be accurate.

my 9 would have made at least 200bhp going by the figures your slurrying on about

unless it has been dynod on a dyno dynamics dyno stop waffling shite about your wee vti on a site dedicated to type R's

it people like you that make the owners of the dyno's greedy scumbags that are not worried about accurate figures and more worried about the happiness of a customer

That would be the VTi that makes the same power as your 9! Laughable

The VTi was done on a DASTEK Dyno!

And you are clearly wrong, i wanted to go to a dyno to check my fueling as my engine is not tuned! and my car made 12hp over standard with £1200 worth of bolt ons! You have a B18c, standard form it should make no less than 190 - and if a dyno dynamics dyno was half decent it would at least show you accurate results.

and just for your info - my civic will be sporting a b18c soon enough, but it wont be stock and it also wont be under 200bhp

lmao, so petty this,
dyno is not a measurement tool, its a tuning tool as said b4,
this is all pub talk, no one cares about numbers,

I must have seen 5 ek9's on dyno's in the last few years and non of them have made there factory quoted power figures of 185 bhp even with breathing mods on some of them

I dyno cars all the time and NONE of the honda's ive come across ever make their quoted factory figure, and this also is the same with BMW's, BMW's are worst in fact.

Dont forget alot of the engine when they come from the manufacture they are tested with the best fuels available (BMW i know test on 100octane) so the PUBLISHED power and torque figs are somewhat, well. above average. This is purely done as a sales factor at the end of the day.

The dyno is simply used as an additional tuning tool allows one to perform tests in a safe manner

My point to every driver whos car I tune exactly.

its drivability to me that is most important. NOT the maximum power that the car can peak too.

its gains mid range. Your average ROAD CAR doesnt LIVE at the top end of the rev range. Lets face it and be realistic.

my car dynod 172.4 bhp at the fly on a dyno dynamics dyno and my car has a 98 spec JDM b18c.
id love to see your 172bhp vti keep up with my 9.lol:nice:

different readings in PEAK POWER can be affected by many factors...

Dyno manufacture
The way the car is STRAPPED down.
The amount of strap torque used
Pressure in the tyres themselves
Ambient Temperatures and in-house dyno conditions
inlet air temperatures

i could go on and on.... ;)
