R1PPU's EJ9 Build Up


Looking wicked mate, about time it was back lol
 
Sooooo long time no update! Not much been going on, been out of the country for most of 2018 with work! But seeing as most of my personal life is on here figured I'd add some bits in here haha.

After picking up the car, I put it straight into storage, as I went home for a couple of weeks then out to Sweden with work for a few more weeks:

Got back and pulled the car out of storage. Made the most of enjoying it for a the few weeks I was in the UK then back out to Sweden.

Also had a random snow storm, passed my ARDS and went for a drive with a mate. FYI, B16 EJ9 1, Porsche Cayman 0 :))

And a few days after that I dropped the car off with @robthedoc at TI Motorsports for him to sort out the car ready for me to enjoy when I get back from Austria (been out here for work for a couple of months now! Heading back to the UK in about a month). Rob's been a hero, the car needed a coolant leak fixed, front and rear camber arms installed and a geo, my sump fixed (had a small dent) and baffles installed, TPS sensor and IACV fitted and a service. He also did a compression check for me, and it came back with a healthy 170 over each cylinder :dance: As well as this he sorted out some rust on the underside:clap: I could've tackled some of these jobs but in all honesty, when I get back to the UK i just want to enjoy it as I've not driven i properly since I dropped it off for the arches back in September....

He sent me this the other day which made me super happy, I'd be lying if I said I'm not missing it....

Hi mate, long time no speak, how are you doing?

The cars looking well, not looked through you build thread yet but guessing you’ve done a bit of work to it

Not seen your car driving about for a long time either. No doubt you won’t have seen mine either as it’s been garaged for the last three years lol.

Yeah been engine swapped etc so just enjoying it now haha. Also I live in the Midlands now so thats a big change!

Yeah I had a read through the whole thread, engine conversation looks good and fair play to you and your mates for doing it yourselves.

What is it your doing down there?

Just ready through all of this loved every bit of it! Motivated me even more to get mine up to scratch! Good job well done there mate
 
Well...been a busy year.

Summary is...fitted the engine, absolute masterpiece built by Rob at RDMotorsports in Edinburgh. 205hp and drives amazing. Did a track day at Snetterton which was ace pre current lockdown, got another one the day after this one ends haha. Oh and somehow still kept travelling around the world with work...but obviously can't share pictures of that

What a journey, kicked me up the ass a bit! Love the car mate and everything you and your mates have done.
