Got these d2 rear arms and front camber arms, bushings are perfect but bit tatty. Arms are being stripped and painted, ordered high tensile bolts for the camber arm ball joints. Not sure if i should paint the rear arms or not.
Looking forward to seeing this back together!
Where did you get the oil pressure adaptor from man? Been looking for one but couldn't see any steel ones, only brass
So today me and dave, and my army mate graham got to work with the bastard crank pulley. Soon had that off, stripped the oil pump and checked the clearances, all good!
Refitted with new seals, then fit a new water pump, koyo tensioner and gates racing cambelt.
Excuse the trolley jack/ chair combo
Then i fit the adaptor for my oil temp guage and oil pressure.
Plus a Small hamp filter for a slight bump in oil pressure.
I then went to fit my spoon sump shield, what a load of junk that is! i think because it was probably made so long ago the adhesive is ****.
Painted the other lower wishbone, only a quick job, bushings are good so didnt bother replacing them. Gave the front calipers a lick of paint, clean and regrease etc
Tommorow rear trailing arms will be coming off as there sitting on the car, clean, repaint, and new trailing arm bushings. And if weather permits get the first few coats of underseal onto the arches and fueltank etc.
So the car was in a sorry state sitting on axle stands, and some dirt had left some nasty marks on the paint. Some weird dust, god knows where it came from. So i washed the car and polished out the marks. Also jetwashed all the arches again, to get it ready for a some underseal.
Cleaned up the arms and painted one, then ran out of paint.
Ye i already have cleaned and used the brush underseal behind the front wings, side skirts and rear bumper. But i want to go over it again. Ill spray on the arches and tank underseal etc
New leads. More parts updates this week. Then lots of work this weekend underseal arches and subframe/ fuel tank. Strip loom out of bay and key for paint. Finish painting front hubs. Then its just assembly!
Got a blackworks rad and hoses on there way from the states, + 2 new drive shafts
Painted my rear ARB black, then took the exhaust system of the car as it was still hanging on the shell for undersealing.
Titanium backbox, weighs 1.8kg
Then i got spraying, god this stuff is horrible haha,
Called it a day now, covered in this stuff and need to scrub myself to get ready for a night out haha. Cant go out looking like a chimney sweep. tommorow ill recoat it and go over some bits.
