well id imagine it would come off " slowly " .... a wheel not torqued correctly usually gets looser and looser and you will feel it.... an over torque'd wheel is what usually strips / snaps bolts and then the wheel flies off
Or not using spigot rings.

yup take one off and you will see a silver chewed ring about half way down the taper, that is the only contact aftermarket nuts have with the oem wheels, seen it on a mates car (
