Re-sizing photos

Im trying to re-size a photo for my avatar but when i do to 200x200 which is the limit, it comes out blurry as shown in my current avatar.

On my old cam i never had to re-size them, it would just upload straight to my avatar.

I presume it has something to do with quality?

Can anyone help? Please..

A quick way is to upload the photo to ImageShack, but before you upload it choose the Resize option and select Avatar size. Should retain the same quality.

I downloaded a free application called JPEG Optimizer (I think, don't have it any more), was my saviour after ages of pissing about with mine trying to get it to fit/work!

I give up. Ive tryed uploading to image shack on avatar size and still isnt working.

It either tell me its

Invalid file
Invalid URL
Image too large(or something like that)

I dont know what to do, nothing is working.

I had the same probs everywhere I tried Dan (and I tried a few sites that offer image re-sizing). Have a blast with that jpeg optimizer:

I use this for all my photos & i can re-size any of them to fit as my avatar!

yeah ive been using photobucket for years and have never had a problem. Now no matter what size i upload the photo(even tiny) its still says the photos are too large???

I havent got a clue whats going on?

Well both my avatar & sig pic's are re-sized photos on photobucket, so god knows why its not working for you!

I am going to try resizing another pic now & see if that works
