ive just put a different engine into my ek and was wondering how other people went about registering theres?
what do i need to send off to the dvla, I have been told proof of purchase needs to be on a headed piece of paper from a garage? What if i didnt buy it from a garage?

Anyone got any info on this?

Best to phone the DVLA and see what they say. Although im nearly sure that even if you didnt buy the engine from a garage or have it fitted by them, they can still verify what engine is in the car and basically have a check over it to see its all A OK. I think its the same as having an alarm fitted, even if they didnt fit it they can still verify it. Then whatever verification the garage gives you must go to the DVLA along with the taxbook to get it changed. Same with insurance

I still need to do mine, but basically another member did it here.

Sent the V5 off with the relevent information input..engine number, displacement etc. He got a letter back asking for a headed confirmation from a dealer that it was the engine he advised..petrol and displacement etc.

Once done, he sent the information back and got his new V5. His tax never changed and it does not need to be a Honda dealer just any main dealer. His was done by BMW.

What engine you drop in?

Only problem with that is... how do i get it to a garage with no tax?
Ive sent it off now with a receipt so ill see what happens. Will update....!

Tax it.

You can still insure it and drive it, just inform your insurance company of the swap.
