I'm in the process of changing the springs on my car but am having trouble getting the rear shocks out. I can't seem to push the hub assembly far down enough to slide the shock out. I've even tried jacking it down but still no good. Anyone have any experience with some advice on what to do? Thanks.

you need to remove the bottom bolt for the ARB drop link, pivot the drop link out the way of the LCAm undo the 2 LCA bolts where the shock for bolts on and where it bolts to the back of the hub

this should allow you to pivot the LCA out the way and remove the shock

cheers for the reply, i seen a guide that i need remove the 2 bolts that attach onto the chassis? These bolts seem to be wielded in, won't budge at all even after half a can of wd40 :( I've removed the rear arb but still doesn't really move to get the shock out. Spent all day on it and I've just given up now!

Wanted to stick my oem springs on as there seem to be some tenzo r springs on at the mo. Not mad into tenzo r products but yous think they be ok for now till i save for coillies?

you do not NEED to remove the bolt on the subframe, only loosen it, then remove the bolt holding the LCA to the shock, then remove the bolt holding the LCA to the spindle and the lca should drop down allowing loads of room.

Next you will have to remove your rear speaker cover and grill to gain access to the bolts that hold the shock to the shock tower.

Oh so I don't need to remove this? Cause looking at a guide and says i have to remove this, but the bolts won't budge!

Didn't notice anything to remove behind the hub but will take another look! Thanks.

DO NOT TOUCH THAT!!

the bolt behind the hub is kind of hard to find, you have to feel for it, if i remember correctly it is just under the caliper, just follow the lower LCA to the hub and you should find it :nice:

Be careful, some nuts are welded on the parts and
you need to remove the bolt...

Yeh the nut that holds the shock to the lca is actually wielded in, didn't notice this until 30mins trying with all my force to turn it!

Just get someone to stand on the trailing arm and slide the shock out.... ?

i used to lean on it with my chest and pull the shock out but then my chest would be really sore lol.

I have tried even jacking down the lca really far but still won't come out! the front ones are ok, but the back ones just not enough room to manuvore out!

Here's a crappy photo to show you what needs to be removed/loosen

Remove the first 3 (left to right) and loosen the last.

Pull the hub outwards then the lower control arm should drop down giving you heaps of room for the shock to me removed.
