robthedoc's ek9 turbo, adventures in boost!

Quite like the idea of having the cooler in the bay out of harms way, and shorter pipe work,

She's looking good!

Glad it's all in and running mate, looking like I may be in for mapping same day as you would be great to see this thing go!!

Turbo issues sorted!

Starting to look like a car again tho. However I may have just ran over my scuttle

Feels good mate. Been a stressful weekend but it's in and running. Pretty proud tbh I did it on my own! Well the fitting part anyway lol. Aonghus was helping all the way. 40 cigarettes and petrol station food haha good weekend to end the dryathlon

Thanks for all the messages guys. Been a busy few days with a few misshaps but it's very nearly ready to start running in.

I will get pics of it all coming together when I get a chance.

Few people have commented on the oil cooler location, it wasn't really intended but works quite well. There was just no room for it at the front with the size of the intercooler and tbh I didn't want to block any more air flow into the bay as the temps would be high in there already. I kinda just sat it there to go and do something else and came back and thought, that's gonna work. Cut out the vent in the front bumper and ran a duct up through to the back of the cooler, the hole is already there for the oem airbox set up. I like how it fills a gap in the bay as well. If it wasn't there it would be an empty space.

Thinking about stealing your idea, should keep the pipe work a bit shorter and the cooler away from risk of stone damage as well as filling a space

It's good mate but the only thing I notice is with the cooler being higher than the filter housing where the sandwich plate is the oil runs back and the level goes up if the cars been sitting. once started it drops.
