hey guys, my rocker cover is started to look a bit dirty but i don't know what to use to clean it. any suggestions?

wd40, degreaser and sun of a gun interior gloss polish for a nice shine

I would use Simple Green. I don't recommend WD40 for cleaning paint, it coud eat away at it.

If car soap and water doesn't do much then buy a can of degreaser and use a toothbrush, it will come out new. Not sure about WD40 but degreaser is safe to get on your engine and for electrical and sparkplugs etc.

the only thing i'm worried about is the colour fading or coming off. that why i though i'd ask 2 c if any1 has done anthing b4 i give it a go.

Ive used simple water-based cleaners on it before they work ok. then just wipe down with a cloth. Im interested in this car-soap, where can you buy it from??

Also I heard a 'trick' done by general car dealers where they use a tyre-shine spray and a cloth to bring the brightness back when its been cleaned but Id assume this might make it look too glossy!? anyone tried this?

that is indeed a trick we used to d it on all our customers cars, but only when they had black valvecovers, it looks brand new :nice:

Wait, I think I was mistaken, this thread is about the valve cover?

Autoglym engine degreaser, can buy it at Halfords for £7 for a huge bottle, spray on and aggitate with a toothbrush and wipe off, comes up like new :)
