So we all know how hondas like to ruse on the rear wheel arches and I done some research and read that removing the liners on the inner wheel arch stops moisture/condensation from building in there and thus prevents them from rusting. Anyone heard or know about this?

There are no arch liners in the rear, some models have a rubber edge on the lip,

It's best to cavity wax the inside of the arch by removing the rear interior panels, and underbody wax up in the arch

Another thing that I did on my old EJ6 to help prevent moisture from getting in was seal around the side molding clips with butyl cord/tape. Before doing so I could see distinct water lines running down from each clip in the quarter panel (same with the doors). I removed the side molding to install a thin molding set. So on the new set I put a ring of butyl around each clip, cleaned the panel where the side molding mounts, then installed. There were no traces of moisture getting in after that. I'll be doing the same to the EK9 sometime this Spring/Summer.
Also, make sure that the drain holes on the bottom of your quarter panel and door stay cleared. Debris often plugs these trapping moisture in.

^^ any pictures of where the drain holes are for the quarter panels in the ek9?

Just jacked up my coupe at the back yesterday and got the power hose up under every nuc and cranny , and the muc was black and gooey , nasty stuff , nice and clean now ,
Next step is to top up with schulz, and not a bit of rust to be seen , 18 year old car all original bodywork,
Win for usa steel !

Here are a few pics where I marked them. The circled are the front quarter panel area drains, arrows show the door drains. I was thinking that the rear quarter panel area had some smaller ones as well but I couldn't see them this time... though I was looking on my wrecked (rear ended) EJ6 that's quite mangled in that area and pretty dirty as well. I'll check again when I change out the interior side panels in my EK9 later this Summer and update if I find any more.
