Can any one tell me what the power is like in a s2000 I have a ek9 at the moment few mods and just want more speed but want too stay with honda.

Completely different cars, but i can see why you ask!

S2000 is quite a bit heavier and is quicker (in a straight line), but only just.
Its certainly not night and day if thats what you were hoping to hear.

One of my mates has an Ek9 and when i had an s2000 i thought it would be a lot easier to catch him than it was. Even with a b16b the EK9 should not be underestimated!

But you already knew that......:naughty:

If you want more speed, stick a turbo on it or a b18c in your 9.

I had a b18c ek9 and a jdm ap1 s2000,,the s2000 is fast but it doesent feel fast, like the take off in the ek9.

Both were good cars, but i regret selling the b18 ek9,,by far its a more aggressive track ready car, especially with a b18c,unreal difference.

id Stick to your ek9 an,and b18 it,you wont be dissapointed.
Or sell it for an s2000 and you will be dissapointed,,thats my opinion.

Get a run in an s2000 1st anyways and if you know anyone with a b18,,drive it too.

As above, had an s2000 afew years ago and went in my mates dc2. He would easily keep up with the s2000 till like 4th gear.
B18 ek9s are pretty epic!

You won't feel much difference between the two unless you want a convertible, I would stick with the EK9 and do more to it, and as others have mentioned, get a B18C in there.

s2000 are nice for 2 months of the year and useless for the rest of it

when the right day arrives with the roof down its irresistable and the 9k rev limit is spine tingling!

the s2000 is quicker than the ek9 but it isnt night and day like already been said

b18c ek with i/h/e and map vs s2k with i/h/e

you guys keep saying the difference between a standard ek9 and s2k is not 'day and night'? are you guys dreaming? in a straight line s2k smokes an ek9. your average punter runs a 15.3-6 in an ek9, s2k should be 14.7-9. thats significantly faster.

also s2000 doesnt run out of steam at 120 like a b16b 9er. standard s2k can do 150mph...

Everyone has stated a b18 ek9, other than the first post.
A b18c ek9 is a match for a stock s2000 on say a 1/4mile.

I love my 9 but I'm thinking super charge the s2k. But the more money I put in the 9 and I won't get it back

Purely for straightline speed it's not that big of a difference if you put a B18C in your 9. The S2k is not just meant to be faster in a straight line, it's a different car. It's a RWD roadster vs a hardcore hot hatch.

My first and only time at Rockingham a few years back, 3/4/5 gearset, Kaaz diff, Cusco Zero2, Brembo 4 pots, semi slicks, standard B16b, against a Rockingham instructor in a totally standard S2k on road tyres, good times :drive:

As mentioned two totally different cars, S2k is great on a summers day, EK9 for all weather! If I could do it all again, stroke the B16 to 1.9/2.0 :nice:

Thing is you can wack a super charger on them straight away with out forging the engine. And I hate the soft top spoon hardtop any day. But if any body knows any one with a tidy s2k who wants too have a little swap with my 9 send him my way
