Safetydevices cages, where from?

So I got fed up waiting for SOS motorsport to do the cage, been chasing them for two months and they couldn't even pick up the shell in that time... I rang chris berkbeck rally sport today, spoke to Sharon who was super helpful and ordered Safety Devices half cage. I decided not to have any brackets for the front half fitted to it as I don't want any extra sharp edges in the car, eventually I'd like to use the rear section and just get some matching cds pipe and weld it onto the back section and then weld it all in with A & B pillar gussets etc... The main hoop may require a little modification for that but I will sort that when the time comes. I still won't have it till the end of June but at least it means I can get cracking with the car and don't have to rely on others to do their job on time (or not).

That's mad! I honestly got the impression that Dave at SOS was very helpful... Oh well then!

At least you can crack on with the car and hopefully get some track time in this year :)

So it's avoid SOS then.
I hate waiting for work to be done lol half the reason I do all my own stunts.
That and I'm tight as ducks backside.

He's actually a really nice bloke, and I have no doubt he could do it and I'm positive he would do a good job, but I got tired of calling, being told he'd get back to me and not hearing from him again. Think it's maybe the time of the year, everyone wants to get their car ready now so they are no doubt busy, I'm just annoyed that he didn't say that straight away as I could have ordered the cage ages ago.

I found birkbeck great to deal with, I spoke to Sharon a few times as I kept adding bits to my order, my cage arrived when they said it would as well, no messing around.

Ended up getting the front section and door bars ordered and they held the rear section until the front section came in then delivered it all together

Sweet! I can't wait to have mine in, won't be till the end of June but at least I have a date now! Want the car ready well before then. I guess the main hoop bolts straight to the floor (well there will be a foot plate I guess) but it doesn't sit on any sort of raised base does it? If that's the case I'll have to chop it a little shorter when I weld it in permanently as I'll need access to the top for welding the front section onto it. Long way off that tho so not something I need to worry about right now! And yeah, Sharon has been incredibly helpful, I wouldn't hesitate to order from them again, excellent price as well!

Yep it sits on the floor with some 2.5mm base plates that weld to the floor/inner sill.

I did remove part of the rear seat brackets, the cage is designed to clear these brackets but I trimmed them back anyway.

I completely removed rear seat brackets so that won't be an issue, thanks for the info!
