Does anyone recommend Seibon CF doors for a EJ6 for weight reduction?
Forget the price I know they are alot of $$...But is it that much lighter than the OEM doors and any issues with installing them...speakers, power windows, power locks, water leaks, stability? Does anyone of these doors. Please share your thoughts or experiences.

p.s. Please don't tell me about getting T-boned I know the risks:blabla:

if you intend to get such door main point is to have no speakers or power windows as re adding weight youve bought doors to loose unless it is just purely for cosmetics

Your right...but I figured I could still shave off some weight, not as much as intended but some never the less.

Ek doors are heavy. Carbon doors will save you heaps. From memory a bare door will be about 20 kgs ( includes hinges, rubbers, door latch and side moulding strip). When I enquired about fiberglass doors they where saying they would Be about 6 kg and carbon being about 4 kg. So I would say an easier 10 loss on each door

Always wondered if a carbon door would stand up aswell in an accident as a normal metal door?

Or would it be better?

never buy a carbon / fibreglass door unless you have a cage with door bars

Even with a weld-in cage I wouldn't get CF doors, I've seen just how much a standard door bends from a light side impact with the beams still inside it.

Exactly what I imagined, sometimes there's more important things than speed I guess

I wouldn't run carbon doors unless I had a roll cage with proper side intrusion (like said above somewhere), and a PROPER weld in cage, not a bolt in job. In some countries you wouldn't be able to keep road legality without the OEM door bars inside the door, and they would have to be welded to pass (in New Zealand anyway).

You would need to put some sort of liner in the door closest to the driver to be on the safe side, as carbon is prone to shattering lie glass in a big impact.

Putting lightweight glazing (Lexan or similar) will yield very good results in the weight saving department.

Costs megabucks though, so really only for hardcore race cars I suppose?
