short gear ratio question?


My 4.7 is coming out as we speak. Just pants driving to the Ring/Track/
 
Yeah they are worth it if you get the plate type. When I was looking there was afew about cheapest was a Cusco at 300 ended up with a ats at 500ish, lee on here with the b20ek9 was selling his ats. Not sure if that's still going on though?

Get the LSD, you'll wonder why you even asked this question once your driving it,
With 4.9fd and 1.5way LSD in my b18 ek9 I was lapping the ring in 8:30's consistantly and could go faster if I wasn't a pansy

How'd you do that then? On the Nordschleife there are several parts where I easily exceed the 120mph in my DC2...
 
Max speed in my car is about 140mph(s4c with 4.9fd, 8600rpm limit) there's a few points on the track where I'm holding the engine back as I don't really like banging the limiter if I can help it. Foxhole for example I'm tickling the throttle off the limiter. Probably about 130mph at the apex

LSD really helps around the tight low gear corners, like the tight right by the pitstraight!

@ kipper what exact gear ratios did you fit, as i know there is different options, im looking into buying a set for my ek3/9, already has a 4.7fd but could really do with shorter top gear due to lack of torque,
 


This is my setup, it was with a 4.4 F.D topped out about 126-128, my setup wouldn't be suitable for the road/daily with a 4.7 I reckon, I found it just about bearable on the road. Best single mod to a B16 IMO. Loved it! 79mph in 3rd, 99mph in 4th.
